Memorable car of the day:
This dude has character (or rust)
For today:
As everyone
in the world knows I have bought a dental bridge. It is due before the 23rd of
May. I am hoping to hear something
before that date so the work can be done by Friday the 20th because
the dental office is just up the road from this RV Park. That would make it easier on us and our
plans. Plus it is something to write
about. LOL
Speaking
of writing I am thinking of another book.
I was inspired by Sherry’s Nephew who works in Saudi Arabia and his
family lives in Kenya. He said he was
reading my last book which concerned our family history. Enjoying stories
to tell his baby daughter. Don’t laugh,
it is the truth, Rick is 65 years old, his wife is much younger and the their daughter Shani, is less than a year old. Frisky old fellow Rick is.
I’m
reminded of a much younger time when I was about 40 yrs old. I had a friend who
was in his early 80s probably about my age now. LOL He had a daughter 3yrs old.
While walking downtown Kirksville, MO a lady passing said, “I know Grandpa is
proud of that pretty girl!” He turned to
the lady and said, “I beg your pardon, this is my own flesh and blood!” LOL
Anyway
I am hearing more interesting stories of Sherry’s family and remembering more
in mine. I am sure Sons nor Grands will be interested now, but maybe when they
are my age they will want to know more.
I should record these things now while I can.
Gas prices. I just did the figures at present fuel
prices. They have gone up since the last time I mentioned it. We will travel
about 525 mi back to NC soon. That diesel will cost $381 at present. If we were driving the car the gas would be
$92. WE could store the coach until next
winter and break even. LOL
We can’t
do that, we need to take a trip at least to Pennsylvania to see friends and a
play at ‘Sight and Sound’. You know Sherry is getting older and we have got to
travel while she can. LOL (If I don’t
post for a while I might be recovering from the results of that
statement.) LOL (It is a joke Sweetheart!!!!)
Nite Shipslog
PS: Thinking about age………
I envy people who grow old
gracefully. They age like a fine wine.
I’m ageing like milk. Getting
sour and chunky.

I would say you're getting better like wine! You should write your book and I know your family will enjoy it. I wish I had writings from my Dad or Grandpa or any family member older than me who had lived an exciting life..or like me had lived a regular life with little adventures thrown in!
Sounds like you got some good things ahead with the writing of your book! I hope you do it! We filled up our Rogue yesterday; 12.4 gallons, $63. We were not happy campers! Hope you do get your dental work completed in a timely manner!
betty
Your examples remind me never to presume ANYthing about others' relationships. Wasn't it Jimmy Durante who had a baby daughter when he was in his 80's? That's nice that Rick took the time to tell you he appreciated your chronicling the family stories.
First COVID fears, now gas prices have kept us in place for a couple years now. Considering my former daily commute, I'm really thankful to be retired!
Oh, fine wine for sure. No Boone's farm for you and Sherry. Gas here is about $6/gal.We won't travel much this year.
Congratulations and well done on planning to write another book. Your memoirs will be cherished and enjoyed by your family ... and your readers too.
God bless always.
A '38 Chevy..... wow..... and I got to see its actual shape. (even if it is rusty)
It's a fact that men can be fathers much older than we women can become mothers. I don't think that is fair but then I'd never be able to keep up with a baby at my age. Hope Sherry doesn't hit you too hard. You are also getting older. What is they say the bigger you are the harder you fall ! Ha!
