Coincidences

Today’s automobile:

This is one of our Metropolitans I wrecked this one.

Some thoughts for today:

Jack Jr came over to attend church services with us last Sunday. Many churches are falling off in attendance some fault belongs to the Pandemic.

We attended the services at Mercy Pointe in Wildwood. WE were there a little early and met with the pastor. Funny thing He had studied in the same Bible School I did, however it was just a Summer School when I attended, it was a full blown College when he attended.

Some of the same professors I knew were there when he attended. He also knew many of the same people we did. As a matter of fact he is a close friend to our pastor up in NC. They were in college at the same time.

It was an interesting coincidental meeting. We had the strangest experience concerning hearing.  All thru the church I could not hear I thought the sound man should turn it up some. When we were out of the church both Sherry and Jack Jr stated the sound was too loud and it was uncomfortable to them.

Now sound is NOT like heat/cool that is usually the problem, not the sound being too loud.  The only explanation to me was maybe the pastor’s speaking frequency was out of my implant device limits.  Anyway the two of them got a good laugh that I thought the sound needed to be increased!

Funny thing, Jack Jr brought Sherry her Mother's day present that was delivered to our trailer in Leesburg. Chocolates sent by DIL Corinne, she is a sweetheart.  BUT Jack Jr. was still talking about our strange hearing disparity last Sunday.

PS:  Wise thought to pass on:

Be decisive. Right or wrong, make a decision. The road is paved with flat squirrels who couldn’t make a decision.

That's crazy! Crazy funny, I mean. Even with the hearing aids, Tom sometimes struggles to hear. I've tried changing my voice range to see if that makes a difference.

Too funny about the squirrels. One of these days I'm afraid I'm going to wreck my car, trying to avoid hitting one.

My dad was partially deaf (farm equipment) and dealt with the sound. Always sat really close to the front.

Sounds like God arranged a chance meeting for you with one of his children.

Florida, still?

That is so true about church attendance falling off; and you are right, Jack, a part of it is because of the pandemic. So many people got used to staying at home and streaming in the church services. However, for me, it is not the same as being in the congregation. I read an interesting article a few months ago that said hearing a sermon online is not the same as hearing it in person. That audience participation somehow keeps people more engaged in it than just listening at home.

That is funny about the sound discrepancies between Sherry and Jack, Jr and yourself. I am assuming you all sat together so it wasn't like one zone had better sound than the other. Weird.

Neat you got to reconnect with someone from your past! I'm sure you enjoyed the time together.

I’m thinking maybe your hearing device has an automatic noise reduction? Maybe Sherry has a little remote where she can turn your sound off when shes talking about you. Hahaha.
Glad you had a good time going to church and meeting friends.
