I sneezed ONE TIME!

 Memorable car of the day:

I don't know why, but this old Buick looks like it is about to sneeze!

For today:

I am not sure about sneezes, but when I sneeze it is normal for me to sneeze at least twice (3 sometimes). But yesterday I sneezed only once. I sat waiting, nothing….  I felt cheated. LOL

My girl sneezes several times while eating ice cream. She says it is an irritant, but would rather handle the sneezes rather than give up the ice cream.

My family always said, “I’m sorry” after a sneeze. I was grown and away from Belmont, NC before I heard someone say ‘Gesondheid’. Hating to show my ignorance it was awhile before I asked someone. A friend said his parents told them that when you sneeze your heart stops, so the blessing is for the continuing. I decided to check this out. The Following I read of the Dutch and the 3 times thing:

Dutch

Gezondheid, or if the person has sneezed three times, (Drie keer) morgen mooi weer

Less commonly: proost

"Health!", the equivalent of respectively "Gesundheit" as said in English, or if the person has sneezed three times, "(Three times) the weather will be nice tomorrow."

From Latin, prōsit. (“may it be good”) (to your health)[notes 1]

Dank u (wel) formally, or Dank je (wel)

"Thank you"

The more I looked the more I learned most countries retort: God Bless, Live long, or good Health.

Iceland they say ‘God Help You!’

Hindu is “Live a Hundred years!”

In Urdu they say to someone who sneezes, “May God have Mercy on you!”

Japanese ask, “Are you all right?”

Polish they say either ‘Live a hundred years or Truth (concerning what was said before the sneeze)”

Years ago when someone in Korea sneezed, everyone around would make the sound of a sneeze!

Yiddish some say: “To Life”, “For many Years” or “Sneezed on Truth”

One small country, Kusaal says, “God Speaks the Truth!”

In Malayam according to your faith they say: Let Lord Krishna bless you or Jesus save you!

Punjabl they comment “Glorious Lord!”

Yoruba it is expected to be said, “sorry.”

Sigh, I thought I knew EVERYTHING. LOL.

Okay what is your story, what do you say (if anything) when someone near you sneezes?

Why?

Sorry ... I sneezed whilst commenting earlier and deleted the whole thing.

Did you know that when we sneeze we have to close our eyes otherwise our eyeballs would fall off. Also, it is rude to sneeze round corners. And if you sneeze outdoors at night it can be heard further away. And sneezing under water is dangerous. And when fish sneeze they are propelled at least two feet backwards. Birds do not sneeze whilst in flight. Finally, do not sneeze whilst commenting on peoples' Blog posts.

God bless.

I forgot something else ... people sneeze in accents depending on where they live and their language.

God bless.

Growing up, I became accustomed to hearing "God bless you" when someone sneezed; so that's what I do. I even tell the dogs, in case they need extra blessing. :) Now my mother used to sneeze repeatedly -- 7, 8, even 9 times. I was probably a little jealous, on account I LOVE to sneeze. Funny story -- when someone begins sneezing Tom's likely to say, "God bless - but the next one's on you."

I try to stifle my sneezes so no one knows I'm sneezing lol. It's funny to listen to Winslow sneeze. We would say "God Bless You" when someone sneezed around us.

This is likely one of the most fun that I've had all day!!! I sneeze frequently, however, no one is around to give me any of those "quotes"! So, I reach for that spray bottle of Flutiscone the Doc prescribes for my allergies. I've noted that the older I get the more meds in my cabinet, Solutions are still here, thank the Good Lord.
BTW, I htwo-dogew baby, when Glenn ran away Thursday evening, a little Chiwawa or whatever followed him here; he's furious that this little pup is competing for my attention, but he's precious. Tomorrow I will post his picture in the "Scoop in Okeechobee"....someone has to be missing him! He is so well behaved that if not claimed, I'll be a two dog "Mom".
Hope all is well and if you can get Jack and one of his savvy grands down to Florida, I will reward them handsomely (still have all those antiques and exquisite things)!!! Mark Darnell told me that the two large Lance glass canisters have real value. Regretfully, losing IrmaNee and Eileen ended me in a depression I'm fighting to overcome. Every day, I have a prayerful reading in my inbox and that's a huge help for me. SOON, I'll be back to my energetic, "Git er Done" Gurl! I'm polishing my nails ~ and using the "LimeLife products that Kenny's daughter Jodi sent me a basket full of: wrinkle helpers and cleansers, etc. Juanelle, my little sister, started it by sending her favorites, then Jodi jumped in and overwhelmed me with the product! "I feel pretty, oh so pretty"...WEST SIDE STORY at ~ my Freshman year at Truman University my class and I took a train to Chicago to see the sights and this musical was one; I WILL NEVER FORGET! (1968) The bright lights of Chi-town were scintillating, the street food vendors, YUM! However, West Side Story remains my all-time favorite stage play. At seventeen, I was easily impressed; a farm kid in the big city!!! I love extravaganza, Darnells and I'd love to see you soon. Do let me know when y'all are going to have a special event, I'd love some hugs! Do you remember when I "adopted" the street bum and drove him to the Carolinas via MO? Jimmy has passed away, a couple of years ago, however Jack, you and Sherry bought that guy the most magnificent seafood extravanza he'd had in his life. He was a Vietnam Vet, not completely "all there" for all those reasons that war participants came home messed up.
But, for two hours you two gave that guy an experience he'd never had. My heart went out to you then; but you two, Jackie Jr. and Mark have all had the Conrad kiddos love and admiration for your family being such an important part of our world! (Not just the preaching or the chalk drawings but the pure love that poured out to your parishioners.) From my heart, thank you for 60 Plus years. Love and hugs, Glenda

I seem to sneeze every time I eat. I have googled it and it is actually a common thing. I also suffer allergies and will have sneezing attacks through the day. Where I work you can hear sneezes coming for cubicles everywhere. I say Bless you. They say bless you. We all are blessing each other all day long. Haha.

We say, God Bless You when someone sneezes. Most people do sneeze more than once when they start so often I wind up saying it more than once. I guess the trick would be to wait until they finish. We have your tropical Florida weather here today. Hot and humid and some showers too. The a/c is already on here this morning. Hope you have a good weekend there!
