I hoard, and I also cook a little bit!

hoarding

There are some things I just can’t throw away. As a matter of fact most things I throw away I take something off of it, if it will come apart. I know what drives some of the things. Like the other day when I took the cook top out. The knobs were good. So naturally I pulled them off and kept them. The reason is, in our other motor home the knobs had worn so you could hardly read them and I could not find replacements, so I kept these.

I have decided to put them out so the ‘walking folk’ can see them. I have some other stuff I want to give away so I will put those things out also. I save entirely too much stuff.

What is your favorite ‘splurge’ food? One you really look forward to, not because of the cost but because of the taste. I have come to love the ‘Pecan Waffle’ at the Waffle house. It just seems to hit the spot with me. Sherry likes it too.

Her special treat is the ‘Veggie Lover’s Pan Pizza’ at Pizza Hut, I love it too. It works out that we have two slices left to bring home and the most of the time we have my ‘special soup’ and a slice of pizza within the next two days.

I ‘normally’ cook (when I cook) in one pot, the pressure cooker. I tried BBQ sauce on my chicken while pressuring it the other day and it worked well. I made mashed potatoes and opened a can of sweet peas. I made gravy out of the BBQ sauce left in the cooker. I did well that time and had it all come out about the same time. I am usually not good at that.

So the pressure cooker is something I cannot throw away, I like it. Mama used a pressure cooker, I believe it was in canning (not sure) but once the regulator blew off and hit the ceiling. She didn’t even get excited. My mama was cool.

I met a Wisconsin Mama (belonging to Mel, Darla and Cher) who probably comes close to being like my mama, you can bet she is cool in tough situations!

Thanks for coming this way,

I am guilty of hoarding a few things, like, garden and log home magazines...love them but actually love using them for reference. Someday, we may even move back to the log cabin. Bill says no. Hmm.
Favorite 'splurge' food? would have to be a root beer float.....love them in an original A&W Rootbeer Mug, of course. And a Peanut Buster Parfait. Tummy is still 'iffy' so , not today.

The pressure cooker scares the bejebbers outa me, ever since I ended up with a hole in the ceiling of an apartment I rented 42 yrs ago.
Give me cast iron any day.

So sweet of you to claim our Mama...I have to call and tell her...she will be tickled. She is a diamond in the rough. And yes, she IS cool in tough situations. We have her to thank for so much of our strength even when we don't think we have any. Ya gotta love her.

I remember when the pressure cooker blew up. I am like Dar it scares the bejebbees out of me.
I will just stick to my regular way of cooking.
I don't need fast food, I have plenty of time
to cook it in the over. My favorite food is fish.
I do make a good homemade pizza. I better get
in the Kitchen and see what cooking. Smells good.

It's Walgreen's Moose Tracks Ice Cream, Publix
offers one also even have it in yogurt which is
not too bad, but for sheer decadence it's Walgreen's. If you've never tried it, check it
out: mini peanut butter cups and layers of rich
chocolate fudge in vanilla ice cream! Or Mom's
chicken and dumplings ...or BOTH! I tend to hoard things to, mostly clothing, have stuff that hasn't been on my back in 20 years.

My splurge food used to be Rocky Road ice cream but today I think I discovered a new one in Fredricksberg. Its Praline Pecan Honey Butter.

I was having issues getting my comments to post. Sorry I missed this one! Our Mom's do sound similar in their teaching methods etc. Especially the love they give.
