from South Africa

clarify: no internet for hours. Gonna try to send this!

Little known facts:

….In the last 4,000 years, no new animals have been domesticated.
….If the population of China walked past you, in single file, the line would never end because of the rate of reproduction.

….If you are an average American, in your whole life, you will spend an average of 6 months waiting at red lights.
….It's impossible to sneeze with your eyes open.

Now my exciting entry for today!!

I hate to be a copy-cat (a statement I remember from my youth) but Cousin Ken sent me some good information from Johannesburg, South Africa.  Now I am not sure if Cousin Ken has been to South Africa, but I have met friends who have been and I have met a few folks from South Africa.

My  fondest memory (SMILE) is from my brother in law who was hosting some African Representatives of his church. He picked them up at Kennedy Nat’l Airport. On the way to Long Island a lady nearly stepped in front of the auto.  One of the representatives said loudly, “Bishop, you almost hit that bitch.”

Where in  BIL explained, please do not use that word in the states, it is not commonly used to describe a young lady here. (BIL learned Bitch was a common term for a young lady in S. Africa.)

During the same short trip BIL was asked about his family and he said, “Now my youngest, Woody, is a feisty little booger.”

With that the Missionary gasped, “Bishop, your mouth, how can you use that word? In South Africa that is a filthy, nasty word I will not even repeat it.”

We citizens of the USA assume everyone who speaks English, speaks and means as we do.  With that, and there is no contradictions here, the following are ‘chalk board wisdom’ from a local ‘petrol station’ in Johannesburg, South Africa.  I like them:
The co-owner of this station inherited the chalk board and started adding wit every once in awhile. Some of these have gone world wide.
I read this one and smiled.  In the last couple years I have planted a tree or two. Presently I have a 'J' tree and an 'S' tree for the GGrand kids.

So, from the message the co-owner must be a lady!
 I loved this one! (above)

This one strikes a cord also. (above)
I had to think of the divorces I have known. They resulted from the above statement.
This one I love for sure. I do not know if I have ever fit in the above mold, but in many cases I have walked alone (dragging my girl down the same path for over 60 years)

I do hope you enjoyed the chalk wisdom above from South Africa, I did.

Like the wisdom and the cute little car. I've wanted to put eyelashes on my truck then thought better of it and put some little stars on the tailgate instead.

I liked all the chalkboard wisdom. The one about doing something permanently stupid when temporarily upset reminds me of the words of wisdom I would give son when he was younger. To evaluate his actions or future actions to make sure they didn't have lasting effects.

The ability to communicate with others is not easy. Words do take on different meanings. I enjoyed all the wisdom shared on the chalk boards. Hope your internet continues to work, at least part of the time. I always enjoy seeing your posts and reading your comments too.

Good advise on the signs. We need to put some eyelashes on the cars eyes.
