Today..... we attended an ‘uptown church’. One of Charlotte’s most prestigious, Myer’s Park Presbyterian Church. They seat approx. 700 for worship. (I can't help it, I am a counter 30 pews one side = 60. Min 12 people per LOL). We arrived very early so I had time to count the pews. The inside architecture and design is itself simply beautiful. The very old inside carved and exposed beams are beautiful, much like the ones in the cathedrals I have visited in Italy and Greece.
It was the Christmas music day, no sermon. We were there to hear our grandson Stephen sing. He is a professional tenor, and of course the best! LOL (He is very good.) The church is an uptown church where the four lane road is reduced to 2 lanes by the city for parking.
This church has a large orchestra (including harp and bells) and choir. They have a professional conductor. Being raised in a less formal church environment, I could worship, but it just wasn’t what I am used to.
But it was great to see and hear Stephen. He is a very busy young man. He sings in the large Catholic Church choir also. He left the service and went to work at a musical supply store (Instruments etc).
JJ took charge of Jude for the rest of the day, or until his mama the nurse, gets home from work. They dropped us off at home. Life is good. We are so glad we drove up for a few days.
