Lagrange to BAton Rouge

 Automobiles of Art
 1927 Studebaker

Today:
Well really last night we spent in Lagrange Georgia. This fountain with a cast iron statue of Lafayette is beautiful. It is the center of town square, the fountain itself if impressive.

This morning we actually started off early. WE drove into and out of Alabama We hit some back roads just for fun and I did not take one pic.

Alabama clear roads.

We have driven this route many times, even several times before interstates. WE drove thru the heart of Atlanta on Peach Tree Street I think. That was US 29 most of the way right thru Montgomery (back when).  Now you can bypass.

(You may can see the love bugs hits on the windshields)

Just after Mobile Alabama we turned west on I-10 thru our old stomping grounds around Biloxi Mississippi.  It was strange seeing all the big names appearing at the Casinos. Funny that, when we lived here in the 1958-60 it was a shrimping town. The biggest thing here was Keesler AFB. Now it is the gambling capitol of the Gulf Coast.

Then Into Louisiana.  The drive is beautiful and the traffic was not bad.  I love the bayou country and enjoy trying to pronounce the names I see. I can’t even attempt to spell them. LOL

OH, Alabama was blessed with Love Bugs today. The coach was covered.
We are over nighting just past Baton Rouge at Frenchman's Wilderness Campground (Mark says it is in the middle of nowhere). Tomorrow we will enter Texas.  Mark and I have shared the driving.

Sounds like you are covering a good amount of ground. I have been in Biloxi before and traveled through Bayou country to New Orleans. Hope the rest of the trip goes just as smoothly for you! Nice to have your son help with the driving. Happy trails to you !

OK, Tom tells me Mobile is 3 hours away … so I guess y'all are forgiven for not stopping to say 'hey.' (*smile*) Sherry's got the best seat on the road!

PS - Gotta say, you've a handsome son!

Mark looks like he is haveing too much fun and ask Sherry if that's what they call "speed reading?" haha.

Yall stay safe out there. We were gonna head to the beach on Friday but it looks like the beach is going to head to us instead.
