WE are out to lunch or something

This site will be silent for a few days. We are going on a CIVILIAN CRUISE. I want to see if it is more fun or better food than the great War Ships, I love so much.
So, will I have fun? You can bet your bippie. I AIN’T never had a girl aboard ship over night and in the same compartment!!! I am used to sleeping with 20 or 30 guys around, This is going to be fun.

Not taking the lap top even. Ever heard of MARS? No, not the planet. This is Military Affiliated Radio Stations. Ham radio. Some ships had or have a MARS room, where if you were lucky you could get a phone patch via Ham radio to your family back home. Everyone had to get used to the one-way communications by using the radio terms over, out, etc. That was long before CB radios so most folks were not familiar with the use of the radio terms. Also there was no privacy, everyone knew what was said. Lot of interesting stories there, when folks on the other end did not know everyone in the radio shack was listening. But it was our only means of voice communications. Now with cell phones, internet, etc. communications are no longer a problem.

Anyway to a lot of folks cruises are old hat. I am looking forward to my first, at 70.
I will have a lot of catching up to do on our return.(not to mention the catching up to do aboard ship)

We are meeting Don & Evelyn great friends from home at ‘Corky Bells’ for lunch. D & E live on that side of Florida in the winter. Will be good to see them.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Hi Jack and Sherry, It was a pleasant suprise when I opened my Journal and there you were!!! Still traveling, and still your same old fun self. Alzhiemers is a very long and painful good bye, but best of all you called me a friend. Thank you Jack. You are just as crazy as you ever were, and I would have been disappointed if you had changed. Love the Pics.

Jack I am sure you and your lady will have a blast on that cruise. What a treat you two so richly deserve.
I have never been on a cruise . But i got sea sick on the staten island ferry. so i had better remain a land lubber
Submarines fascinate me . I wonder if I would fare better riding in one of those.

I will be checking with Dr. T. to find about
your behavior on the trip. I would like a full
report. I guess you will be back tomorrow Friday. Back to the real world. Hurry back.
Missing you.
