I am amazed at the information available on the internet. The site below is amazing.

http://www.newseum.org/todaysfrontpages/flash/

The above address is a unique one. There is a map of the US. You can click on a city and get the local paper headlines. You can click and blow it up large enough to read. Some papers you can read the entire paper. You can pick a country and check the papers world wide.

I mentioned we read our local paper every morning via the internet. We get the headlines, some stories along with the obits free. We do not subscribe to the paper. I agree about the paper delivery at home. It got too expensive for me and I cancelled years ago.
Did you ever see the Washington Post on Sunday? The paper is actually 3” thick. The paper boy can’t carry but four at a time.sd

Now todays insightful entry copied off the net:

The Spendulus Plan Will Work this was!

Three contractors are bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House. One is from Chicago, another is from Tennessee, and the third is from Minnesota. All three go with a White House official to examine the fence. The Minnesota contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $900: $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me.
"The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700: $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me."
The Chicago contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$2,700."

The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys! How did you come up with such a high figure?"The Chicago contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence.""Done!" replies the government official. And that, my friends, is how the stimulus plan will work.

That is business as usual in Washington, I do hope it is achanging!
Nite Shipslog,
PS: Red meat is not bad for you Fuzzy green meat is bad for you.

I am having an out-of-money experience.

The toughest part of a diet isn't watching what youeat, it's watching what other people eat.

mmmmm.....love chocolate chip cookies.I don't need to know how many calories are in a chocolate chip cookie, I need to know how many calories are in a whole batch!

I don't make chocolate chip cookies very often. I'm inclined to eat the whole batch too.

Thanks for letting me know about my spendulas
We are having rain and snow Sunday. I know you don't like the cold weather. Next Friday will be 70. Just hang around until Friday.

Thanks for the link. I checked it out but like I said our paper is greedy and it's not there. I'm glad ya'll are able to read your local paper. We didn't buy the daily paper but we had the weekend paper delivered for years. Yes it is too expensive and I'm sure with the way the economy is they've lost several customers. I think it cost $87 a year to read it on the internet which is much cheaper than having it delivered to your home but it ain't worth that much. If it's still like it was when we had free access to it on the net there is alot of it that isn't posted.

I loved the link to front page headlines. I used it on my Gordon Family blog and referenced you here! I was busy reading articles from Europe! Interesting perspectives there!
I also like your story re: stimulus plan! Very entertaining!!

How about this, your first comment on March 1st.
I love chocolate chip cookies but I never have the ingredients so that is a good reason not to make them. We used to take the paper but it cost us 8.00 a month and half the time did not get it or it was in the yard, wet or dry. We have a good sized front porch but no one could find it. Lucy
