From the Hospital

Seems we stick around here a lot lately, but then we know no other place we would rather be in and around Detroit.
While here I am constantly reminded this was at one time one of the largest centers of industry in the world. Johnny's friends are all from the big BOOM time the 1950's to the 1980's here. They all talk in glowing terms of 'What once was'. We all live on memories and many of our dreams have crumbled as time goes on, but this place, In and around Detroit has affected us all.

Yes, from the movie 'Rebel without a Cause' when James Dean drove some cool cars, to Drive a Crooked Road (Mickey Rooney) and Thunder Road with Robert Mitchum, Cars have been the center of most Americans lives.. And the movie, 'Rebel Without A Cause' was filled with cool customized rods and cars, every boy I knew wanted one.

There was the 1934 Ford Coupe and the 1940 Ford Coupe that made such beautiful customs. The '49-51 Fords all turned out great custom cars. I would love to put the pictures on here but I have no way to do it thru this sustem at the hospital.

Bobby Ferguson had one of the best '40 Ford Coupes in my youth around Belmont. Bobby and his Wife now have a beautiful Ford from the lat 50's or Early 60's.

I scream inside when I think of our great car companies that lost a vision of remaining #1 in the world. They seem to have taken if forgranted we are on top and no one can knock us off. Management some how becomes complacent. I am reminded of the big retailers. What about K-mart & Sears? Companies that had the top slot. They were house hold words, should have stayed on top. They already had the stores the distribution system, everything and let a little thing like Wal-Mart come along and kick them off. Yep, it will happen to Walmart unless their management stays on top of things, someone will take their place.

Enough of this, Thanks for coming by and thanks for all the prayers for Johnny. He is still holding his own, Dr's seem to think he has made 'slight' improvement.

PS:
There is a Bible verse that fits the above it goes something like this:

Let him that thinks he stands, take heed lest he fall!

And this brings to mind one of my favorite verses
Jeremiah 17:5 Thus says the LORD, "Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind; And makes flesh his strength, And whose heart turns away from the Lord."
'love & hugs from afar' as prayers continue!

In a place like that and with our weather sightseeing is not a very popular thing to do. A little improvement is better than none so we'll just count our blessings and trust in the Lord. He always seems to know what is best. The sun is shining here and I can tell the snow is melting but everything is still quite snow covered for sure. Take good care! LOLAH!

Arrrrgh! Just had a note posted here and lost it. Just tryign to learn how to operate this new computer.

Sorry to learn about your having to be around the hospital so much lately.

Frances went to church with me yesterday and we both went to Wal-mart to shop for about two hours today. She's now resting. Doing much better.

Love you folks.

It is sad about the cars. They use to be to beautiful with clean lines. Can't tell them
apart. It is hard to find things "Made in America". Sad, Sad, Sad.

So sad about the cars. They sure were beautiful and should have remained on top!

Hope Sherry's brother is improving.

I'm praying for him.

Hugs, Rose

that is great Johnny might have had a "slight" improvement!! I think staying at the hospital in the middle of a cold Detroit winter is a pretty good option for you guys; just be safe and make sure you take care of you both!
