That ‘comfort food’

Of course I have never thought of a food as a comfort food until some Johnny or Susie come-lately thought it was a cool name.  I smiled, since I have never tried it, but Rick (life 101) said he had a ‘grilled PB’ sandwich.  I never heard of it, but it really don’t sound half bad at all.

So I go to thinking, we all have combinations of foods that we ‘go to’ when nothing else seems to satisfy. My foremost and has been since a little kid is saltine crackers and milk. I like them crushed in a class and pour milk over them. (I like a hunk of cheese along with it)

An oddity of mine. If we have cornbread left over, is cornbread and milk and I love onions with it.

Another oddity (I think) is a grilled cheese with onion .

Any of those three are my absolute ‘Comfort Foods’. I seldom have the grilled cheese when I am craving because the crackers (or cornbread) is so easy and handy. Either usually satisfies my craving.

Do you have a favorite?

The quick and easy always wins here at my house. I rarely do much cooking unless company is coming. I love graham crackers and milk, it's comfort food for me. I like cornbread too, but only make it when the weather gets cold outside and then it's a favorite to have on hand and goes good with chili too. Rain is supposed to be moving in here today and then we're to cool down so that chili and cornbread may be on the menu soon! Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday!

That is an interesting one with saltine crackers and milk; haven't heard of that one before. I used to like to dunk saltine crackers into coffee :) My favorite comfort food is chocolate :)

I like to make little sandwiches with low fat Nila Wafers and peanutbutter.

I love the idea of 'comfort' food!
I've not had it in a long time, but the first thing that popped in my mind was egg custard pie.

Oh I love Cornbread and Milk. For a quick satisfy snack, I like to take a Ritz cracker, add a piece of sharp cheese and top with a marshmallow then toast it till the marshmallow is brown and the cheese is melted. OH MY GOODNESS. everyone that has tried it, is hooked.

Stay Comfy
