That afternoon nap and black pepper

Early interesting Cars:
'55 Dodge . 1955 was the year for the wrap around windshield.

But for today:
We do not take the afternoon nap yet. I am not a napping person. I have known people who could stop a car and take a ‘power nap’ and keep on driving. I always said, when I go to sleep I want to enjoy the sleep! LOL

I choose my hours and they are weird, but they are mine. It is now 11:34PM. I told myself earlier I would be in bed by midnight tonight. Again I see that will be a ‘falsehood.’ But I also do not get up at the crack of dawn, this morning was normal I was up before 9am.  Many nights I go to bed at 2-3AM. It is the best time for me to write or research.

I think better, but I still forget to do things I had planned to do. For instance: When my girl is eating, she loves to ‘see’ some black pepper on her food. Not a lot, she feels it adds something ‘extra’. So I thought, where does black pepper come from? And determined to ‘look it up’. So since I thought of it, I will be right back.
Now from Wikipedia:
Black pepper (Piper nigrum) is a flowering vine in the family Piperaceae, cultivated for its fruit, known as a peppercorn, which is usually dried and used as a spice and seasoning.  ….Simply: pepper, or more precisely as black pepper (cooked and dried unripe fruit…
Black pepper is native to present-day Kerala in Southwestern India,[2][3] and is extensively cultivated there and elsewhere in tropical regions. Vietnam is the world's largest producer and exporter of pepper, producing 34% of the world's crop, as of 2013.
Ground dried and cooked peppercorns have been used since antiquity….. Black pepper is the world's most traded spice, and is one of the most common spices added to cuisines around the world. …. It is ubiquitous in the modern world as a seasoning, and is often paired with salt and available on dining tables in shakers or mills

So now I know, peppercorn!   Yeah I know I could have asked, but you would have thought me ignorant of simple facts. LOL

Nothing takes the place of fresh grated black pepper on steak, salad or a baked potato! Very interesting history of the peppercorn, I love the variegated with red as well. Y'all have a great day.

Hubby uses a lot of black pepper when he is cooking and everything is always delicious that he cooks. I like your routine, Jack. You can pick and choose what you do for timing and it works. I like the occasional afternoon nap but of course don't take them when I'm working LOL.

I go to bed early and am usually up early between 5 or 6 am is normal for me. Seems I'm the opposite of you and do my best in the early morning hours. I do a lot of research like you with the pepper, when curiosity hits I hit google and usually find the answers Im looking for. There's not a day goes by that I don't learn something new. The sunshine is out in Ohio this morning, hope you have a sunny day too. I saw on the news that parts of N.C. were flooded.

Interesting! Since I have to watch my salt intake, I probably over-do it with black pepper. Come to think of it, Sherry, that does make the food seem visually appealing.

Like "Ma" I'm early to bed, early to rise (usually 5). If I wait to do something until after lunch, it's likely not to get done. Love my afternoon naps!

My husband LOVES pepper and spices - I hate them! I like staying up late and sleeping late!

I've been taking a nap the past 5 minutes. I can easily revive from power naps but prefer to stay busy and hit the hay dead tired. My usual is to stay up until around 2 or 3 like you and then sleep until between 7 and 8. Mom said I always got by on little sleep. It must be all the jumble going on in my busy head. lol As for black pepper, Bill loves it almost black on his eggs, me not as much but I do love fresh ground on my salad and baked spuds.
~love n' hugs from up north where my lil sis and I drove to the Lost Point resort campground to find our cousins RV......found it but nobody home.

AhhhhChoooo! Black pepper always makes me sneeze but I use it alot. When I use the pepper mill I feel very "Cheflike". I think it makes food look nicer too but so does parsley. I start work at 6:30AM so I try to hit the hay around 10 or 11 and if I take a nap I'm doomed to get to sleep until after midnight. Jack always takes a power nap when he comes home for lunch. About a half hour and he's ready to go back to the office and crack some backs! On weekends I sleep in and I told hubby I get the best sleep from 6-8am on those days!

Thanks for the peppery lesson Jack
I use pepper grinder at home
I don’t eat out often
But when I do
I don’t use pepper
I don’t want to sneeze in public

Thank you for your kind comment
