Early interesting Cars:
The Buick Centurian II 1955 (concept only never produced)For today:
Sheila (Of Southern Comfort) said she started reading & blogging after reading about the blog, ‘Dad and his Tomato patch’. The oldest blogger.
I have followed some old folk and was proud of them for handling the system. Jean of Op (Sheila’s mom) beats all. That lady is older than I with twice the energy! Met her, love that woman!
I have a background in early giant computers, but my first PC knocked me for a loop. It took me a good 6-8 hours just to enter the date to allow me to continue. I was in the construction business and the PC was suggested by my attorney to keep track of profit and expenditures.
The PC cost was over $2000 and after a few hours I wanted to throw it out in the yard. LOL This was before Windows, internet, etc.
So yes I followed a few blogs after putting forth a lot of effort to use (not master) the PC. And learn a little about the internet.
I remember ‘Just Bill’, and there was ‘Say it Baldys, had to add an s’. Yes that was the name of his blog. Like me he needed help but did not let that stop him from blogging I hoped to meet Bill out in Colorado, but he was moved to a full care facility before I made it. There was ‘Dribbles by (Chuck?)’, he posted from a senior care facility. I laughed when he said ‘translate that Old Folks Home.’ He was a retired teacher in a motorized wheel chair. I enjoyed his Blog.
When I say to our sons or grands, I don’t know how to do ‘something’. The simple instructions are like, “Shoot, all you need to do is click, ‘second set’ on the jersy menu, then check the DCIM, slide it to the side pull down the xxsd group, click go, answer a couple questions and then double click the funny icon on the top and there you are, piece a cake!" (or clear as mud!)
WE are glad just to get by at our age.
I hope to be around here for a while longer, I do hope we don’t have too many ‘software’ changes….. LOL

I think I got the computer managed pretty well; its my smart phone I have the most trouble with, LOL. Its funny to see the wee one maneuvering my tablet or smart phone. He knows what to click to close ads, how to find what he's looking for on YouTube, etc. Scary. But that is all he's ever known. We had to learn everything at an "advanced" age when we were set in our ways, LOL.
betty
I guess you can say I’m an oldie too. I was in high school before I was introduced to a computer and even then, then school only had a couple so we had to share. I remember dial up too. Wow how times have changes so fast.

i remember the old days and computers. my husband is the one who understands them though.
You talking to me? (*smile*)
Trying to understand the cemetery's database system has been a huge challenge. Sure, my co-workers say it took them all a good while to master, but I'm still Intimidated. (That's with a capital "I") Sometimes I miss the simple life of general ledgers and journals kept by hand.
Took me a while to become more computer savvy..translate: can buy junk on line! We're changing computer systems at the hospital and holy cow, it's been a mess! But not to worry..in 2yrs they're switching again! I'm pretty sure I'll be gone by then..from work, not the world I hope! Love your blog, your wisdom, your cool cars and you give me hope that I have a few years left in the blog world!
I too remember Dad's tomato garden. He wrote every day and was an early riser. Course like me, he also took and afternoon nap. Ha ! He is gone now but not forgotten. Technology is always changing but thankfully I am now able to comment on all the blogs I read...thanks to Chatty Crone's advice. She had the answer on what to do to fix the problem. That's the wonderful thing about blogging. Lots of caring people in bogland for sure!
