This truck was new when Eddie was born:
Today is Thursday April 2nd:
I feel the weight of Covid 19. Today Oleta, Eddies wife and June, Eddies daughter will say good bye to Eddie as they disconnect the machines that are keeping him alive. They will enter his room. The physical way it will be done I am not sure. It was tragic enough 2 years ago when they disconnected my sister Shirley, and we did not have to be in a sterile environment.
It is too early to be concerned about the procedures for someone who passes under the present conditions. Some of the women who read this blog have lost a mate they loved and cherished. Sherry and I know that one day that will be our appointment.
I watched as my Mother, my sisters and my sisters in law buried their husbands. The normal procedure for the service and burial.
All bravely picked up the pieces and went on living. It takes a strong woman to continue. This is the month of women's history. All you women deserve a big 'ATTA-GIRL' for your strength for putting up with us men and for holding up after you have raised us.
This is Oleta and Eddie (happier times of course)
This is June and Wayne... (in happier times)
Today they take their turn (Under strained circumstances, nothing will be as usual) What ever they must do they will. And they will survive because they are women, and I think God gave you ladies something special, and that makes you all SPECIAL.
For me, who took this Virus way too lightly, I'm sorry. I personally could not have changed a thing, but I could have considered things and erred on the side of caution.
My prayers go out to the Herron family, this is the second brother to leave us on a month. The two oldest boys are saying good bye to ones they helped raise. Our love and prayers go especially to Billy (in his 90s) and Jimmy (in his 80's)
I could not be there when my dad died, because of weather and flights. Under this Contageous Virus, Somehow everyone must say good bye from a distance. It must be hard.

If you saw my Post on Chase John Wood being killed in a MVA I posted, The Funeral was called off, the Celebration of life was cancelled by "Authorities" in Conn. ! My Nephew Lance and wife Lisa are having a real hard time right now ! Also there are no Funerals here in our Area at this time !! So Sad !
I am Nervous about this Virus but keep Praying and Staying Home, You and Sherry stay Healthy !! Sending Love from the North ! Gary & Anna Mae !
I am so sorry to read this Jack. Will keep Eddie's family in my prayers. Such a sad time to endure through.
What a tragic loss. I'm glad they can be there with him. Many are not allowed in hospitals now. Prayers of comfort for the family at this terrible time of loss. Your family has been hit big time. Stay safe not sorry is my motto.
Please don't be too hard on yourself, Jack. I think many of us didn't take this virus so seriously at first. I was really praying for a different outcome for Eddie. Lifting prayers for all who loved him.
Jack ~ I am so very sorry for your loss. Know I'm sending your family and Eddie's tons of cyber hugs ~
I am very, very sorry. I am sending my prayers. sandie
This breaks my heart I was so hoping and praying he would get well. You and Sherry take care I would think after this long you are on the safe side after being around them. I had an appointment with my cardiologist at Dothan last week, but due to this virus it was a telephone call appointment. Same thing Monday with my local doctor. Take care, Jean.
YOU ARE SO LOVED, JACK DARNELL....AS IS SHERRY AND THOSE PRECIOUS BOYS OF YOURS...AND THEIR KIDDOS AND YOUR GRANDS. Do give yourself a break from the angst of losing someone so close and valued. YOU & YOURS WERE A SPECIAL PART OF THEIR LIVES. Please be cognizant of the fact that y'all were given the opportunity to play a role in their lives, an important one!!! My heart bleeds for those gone too soon; but you'll meet them again...likely getting a little spanking from IrmaNee's paddle...she never missed a cute butt in the 70 years I knew her! Love and warm hugs from Chobee, Glenda
Jack this was beautifully written. We can pray and we continue to love those we are losing and keep all those memories close to our hearts. Please take care dear Jack and Sherry.
