Memorable Automobiles from The Past:
For today:
I have never had a Doctor I called ‘My Dentist’ except Dr Aide
Talamantes in Acuna, MX. She is a very good dentist and a very sweet pretty
lady, but 1500 miles away.
Anyway I went in
expecting to have a broken tooth crowned and a possible bridge. I learned what
I did not want to hear, the tooth cannot be saved. It must be extracted. He
also suggested a bridge, actually a 4 tooth bridge total cost $3250. Is that a good price? In my mind I was thinking between $1200 and
$2000, when I read the projected figures my first thoughts were head to Mexico.
I really do love the drive down that way.
Not sure Sherry is wanting to head that far south this time of the
year. Maybe I will pet the tooth then
head south later next Winter.
If there weren’t extenuating family circumstances I might give it
serious consideration.
I am thinking about negotiating the price a little. Do Dentists negotiate? Have you ever negotiated with one?
Okay I Know he ain’t coming down to $332.50, but maybe he would do
the job for $3000, don’t you think that is fair?
I was in business for many years. I have NEVER got the price I was
asking. I don’t think I have ever sold a car, that someone did not get me down
some. LOL So why wouldn’t a dentist do
that?
Ok I ask a lot of questions, but that is on my mind today of
course. ;-)

Your tongue is the only muscle in your body that is attached at
only one end.

That would so be a great car ornament.
We had great insurance at my husband's work. Now, we are with Unitehealth Care. I broke two upper quadrant molars. Went through multi-dentist visit. I could not have the procedure you had, with no stable molar as an anchor. Cost. Oh, my goodness. It is obscene. Let me know how the teeth battle goes.
Wishing you well in your present difficulties and praying for you, Jack.
God bless.
Oh, that last image is hilarious! I wonder how many fender benders have resulted from people LOLing and not paying attention where they were going.
Wouldn't hurt to ask if your doc is open to a counter offer. Particularly if that offer's cash-UNDER-the-counter. Good luck!
Oh- I have the same thing coming up and I am dreading it. I know that I have at least one tooth that has to come out (so they tell me) and I am going to need a bridge of some sort, I suppose. Dentistry is SOOO expensive. Let me know if you get a bargain. lol. Hugs- Diana
Maybe get a second opinion? I would see if your present dentist would do a discount for cash up front or give you a senior discount :)
betty
Dentists are expensive and for that reason I don't go, even though I should. Right now nothing is hurting, I'm not in pain at all and I can still eat, so I'll put it off a little longer. Sorry for your troubles. Too bad our teeth don't last forever.
You can usually get a better “cash” price. Thats what Nick does.
