Today’s automobile:
I know if you have driven in the mountains, especially
on the East coast you have driven thru clouds.
Hiking the AT we have walked thru clouds.
This is March,
back in my time it was time to fly a kite. One of my favorite things as I flew kite
was to watch clouds as they floated along. Many times as I watched I loved to
see figures appear. I have watched many animals formed and then morph into
something else. I know I am not the only
one.
What brought this cloud stuff on? Last week I accidently
stumbled across a note on the net that said a cloud was extremely heavy. WHAT?
What do you
think? Could the average cloud weigh 1.1
million pounds? REALLY? That is 550
tons. In comparison this coach weighs 13 tons.
BUT that is what science says. So
I ask myself, how can that cloud stay up there?
I am not even going into the science and math but I
guess they are right, but I will still worry when a cloud is just over head,
that sucker must might FALL. I think Chicken Little repeated, “The Sky is
Falling down?”
So Y’all better
just watch out, ‘em clouds is heavy.

PS: Something else I learned:
If you stop getting thirsty , you need to drink more water. When a human body is dehydrated, its thirst mechanism shuts off.

Considering all the rain that can come down from a cloud, I can see why they weight so much. They look light and airy, but science proves differently. We've got clouds here today so I guess you could say the sky is heavy. I'd like it to be sunny, my favorite weather, but we get no choice in that it's how we respond to it that matters. For me that means to make my own sunshine and be happy anyway ! Hope you have some sun there in Florida!
Yes I have studied clouds and the can be very heavy because in reality they are a collection of water vapours all stuck together like the vapour/steam you get when you boil the kettle. They hang there in the sky because the air underneath them is heavier so the clouds float; them being lighter despite being as much as 550 tons, as you say. Also, did you know that in the UK all clouds develop into snow and fall as snow, even in summer? But as the snow droplets reach closer to the ground they melt and become rain. Sometimes it can be very windy when it's raining and the rain drops cannot land on the ground. They just continue circling in the air until the wind stops before they land on the ground.
I learnt all that from a meteorological book which I am writing.
God bless.
I had heard that clouds were heavy. I didn't realize they were that heavy! It is kind of fun to go flying through them :)
betty
I never thought of the weight of clouds.
Bettys’ comment made me think. I wonder if its takes more pushing for airplanes to fly through clouds.
I always thought they were weightless.
Catching up
