A Hello and Love @ Merry Christmas Time

 Today’s one of a kind:

Yep is is a Chevy!  I lke it

Some thoughts for today:

I would bet most of us lets our minds wander this season. For a few minutes each day as Christmas approaches my mind goes back to my childhood and Christmas.

Like most kids, it was tough to wait. I smiled at someone’s comments of FB when I went to wish MY FRIENDS a happy birthday.  They said, “Mama said they received only one present at Christmas.”  Of course in Sherry”s & my childhood we were fortunate to get that one gift and APPRECIATED it no end. That was the main time we also got citrus fruit, we loved oranges and preferred the tangerine because it was easier to peel and eat.

Churches down South gave out treats the Sunday before Christmas the paper poke always had an apple, citrus and some hard candy.  Of course kids loved it.

She mentioned she often got Skates, to you northern folk that was metal roller skates. I told her it was the same with me. Gifts I remember were a ball and glove or skates and the biggie was an air rifle at about 12 and a used bike at age 7.

Sending the best for the Christmas Season for all of you who read this drivel.

Life is good, and remember HIS Birth is Better.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

HIS birth is the best present of all!
Glad to know I'm not the only one who's imagination rewinds back to a simpler, kinder time. How I remember those mesh stockings we children were given at the church's Christmas Eve program. Always the same: An orange (I'd give my mother), hard candies and the coveted walnuts.
I suppose because they had so little themselves, my parents went overboard gifting their only child. One year I remember hiding some of my gifts before my friends came over because I didn't want them to feel bad.

Wishing you and Sherry a most blessed Christmas!

Times have certainly changed. Have you seen the price of toys these days? How can we really teach youngsters the value of things rather than their price?

Wishing you a Blessed Christmas to you and your family.

God bless.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Christmas was so much more fun when it was simple. We never asked for expensive things and we loved the toys we would get. Yes, Skates or a bike was a big deal.

Merry Dhritmas! Our Christmas was much simpler than the ones my grandchildren have. We usually got oranges or tangerines in our stockings along with some walnuts in the shells. Then one gift for each of us. I got dolls when I was younger then as a teen I got a transistor radio and one year I got a record player. I also got a bike when I was a bout 12. I remember getting cinders stuck in my knees when I was trying to learn to ride it. Our street was paved with them. It was exciting waking up to see what Santa had left for us under the tree! That is one thing that hasn't changed over the years. Thanks for all the good memories.
