Cotton is Rotten and shipped off the HP Tower.

We were never farmers, but dad was in his early life. never a big farmer. But I love this Farm picture.
Now I want to tell you, this Baby was the cat's meow. the 1955 Chevy convertable. never had one,but I sure wanted one. Now I would love to tow that sucker behind the Motor Home!

More stuff from our dash. I painted the sea shells, That is a little clear dolphin that I picked up at a yard sale in the foreground. The Owl we bought out west, for a lady who collected owls, but she never got it, she has passed away. So it sits there just being wise! Why is an owl considered wise?

Today, June 29th rip roaring wonderful entry!!!
Okay, now I have an incentive to try to learn something about face book. I just learned our Grandson Benjamin is on face book. He text’s us but we don’t text. But maybe I can learn enough to keep up.
Rain suggested I get a small card reader to upload pictures to the computer, I got one at Radio Shack for $20 and it works. Makes life a lot simpler as far as pictures go. I have been fighting a loss of ‘Easy Share’ software for a long time.
Now at the advice of my grandson Josh and a few others, I will look for an external hard drive. I had thought about a flash drive and I think I will learn something about that also.
We have rain again today. Oh did I tell you that We received an empty box from HP yesterday to ship the tower in. So Immediately we packaged it up and took it over to New Palz for shipment. This is a bad time to have anything fixed, around the fourth of July holidays, because of worker vacations. AND now I have a hearing aid and a computer out there. The return time will be touch and go for our departure time. The one thing you don’t need is have your computer show up the day after you leave. But then that is borrowing trouble, no need to worry until it looks like it will be close, huh?
This rain makes us think of the muddy, messy trail the Hikers are facing on the AT. In the mountains it is so damp anyway when something gets wet it takes for ever for it to dry. There is a statement we learned when looking for material to hike in, ’Cotton is Rotten’ to hike in. It takes so long to dry. So we use synthetic fiber, that dries from body heat and air. I think I mentioned I often take a bath clothes and all, then continue hiking as the clothes dry. Sherry ain’t gonna do that. Afraid she will look like she is in a wet t-shirt contest. She sticks with baby wipes.
I believe this is the month you are supposed to ’Hike naked’. Somebody started it a few years ago and I hear some folks actually do it. I don’t know the day, but there is a ‘hike naked day‘. Never could talk Sherry into it, and never met anyone who was. I am still looking though! LOL
Thanks for coming this way.

PS:
You can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things: a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
Just to clarify the naked hiking. Sherry says for me to make it plain we are just going to hike naked one day. I think that is what she said. LOL

Well I don't think you shoud try the trail
nude. All the bugs and scratches and the
attention you would attract. You may even
get arrested and I am sure you would make the news. It would surely reach your Pastor. I can
see it now. Lets all have prayer for two of
our members walking the trail in the nude.

About the face-book I known nothing. I wish I
knew more about the computer, I just get by.

I'm with Sherry on those baby wipes. I never leave home without them. They are good for so many things. I joined facebook a few weeks ago but haven't been very impressed with it.

I'm loving the naked hiking idea. Pictures upon your return please. I don't Do FB, but a grandchild on there seems an excellent reason to join.

LOL, that is hillarious...I wonder if anyone actually hikes naked, like Shirl said, just the bugs and potential scrapes alone would irk me! Oh gosh, I had "easy share" too, it was a pain in the patoot! Always running in the background and so slow. External hard drives are quite pricey but at least you can insert disks into them...the flash drives are really just for storage, but a lot cheaper. I hope you get your tower back soon and on time! That farm painting is so pretty!

What is this abut hiking naked?? That could be an interesting sight. My great grandaughter forced me into My Space cause that is where she posts my Great grandkids, My Space is like being in outer space to me. Getting to see my gr-grand babies makes me go in there. By the way Terri just saw my topic on undies and she almost broke her stitches open laughung.

Joined facebook and have "friends" but just use it to see pictures etc. Don't really get it otherwise. As for hiking naked, ouch! I was trimming my greenery around the house last night and got 2 scratches and ended up with blood dripping! Mosquitoes were attracted but I don't think anyone else would have been!

Dang my ISP needs to hurry up & email the information on how to get our service on the Dell computer so I don't miss those pics of you & Sherry hiking naked. I bet that would be a sight for sore eyes, hahahaha.

I've been afraid this computer was going to completely crash like yours did. It's been freezing up like crazy. My nephew was talking about those card readers when he was moving my pictures over to the other computer. He was using something called a memory stick when he was switching everything around and he suggested I get one, he says the price on them have come way down and you can get them for about 15 bucks now. Heck I wouldn't know what to do with it if I did have one. I'm lost when it comes to all this computer stuff. I've heard about those external hard drives and how great they are but doesn't a memory stick do about the same thing? Maybe the grandkids will give me computer lessons, hahaha.

I hope your hearing aid & the computer tower don't get lost in shipping. That would be terrible.

Debbie

PS: Tell Sherry I didn't try the chocolate bread but it looked good even if it was bakery bought. The Almond Joy cake was homemade and it was delicious but it was really rich. I forgot to put the homemade blackberry cobbler on the list of goodies we had.

oh my gosh, that would be a sight to see with naked hikers (I'm assuming they wear their hiking boots????) I couldn't look, or maybe I would sneak a look every now and then

I had to laugh that they shipped you an empty box; I know why they did, but it was kinda funny

liked the seashell you painted; that came out cute!

I rarely text; I'm not text savvy at all; takes forever. I got off Facebook, just couldn't see what the big fuss was about it

HAHAHAHA! Oh how you crack me up...

Naked hiking ehh? Party on!

If I hiked in the nude I wouldn't have to worry about bears or anything...because as soon as they or anyone saw my nudey patootie...they would run away...HAHAHAHA!

I've been wanting to get an external hard-drive as well to store pics, graphics and everything on...to free up space on my computer...I think they are less than $100 anymore...

Thanks for the laugh

Love ya'll!
Hugs Terri
