Bar Harbor is a great tourist place. One of the prettiest Seaports I have seen. A place where you can see the past and the present. See the sail ship and the cruise liner.
And the 12” guns that used to protect this harbor.
Son Jack, who doesn’t watch his weight because he will go on a 40 day fast in a few days. I think he is doing like a bear and storing the fat.
When I took this one (above) I was thinking of Robert, over in Athens, who is good at this sort of comparison (past and present).
I stepped into this shop, the note on the sail boat read: “We cannot change the wind direction, but we can change the cut of our sails!” How true.
This lady stopped Sherry to ask where she was from then came a long conversation.
Sherry and her baby boy, Mark.
We had a lunch of clam chowder / Lobster bisque and lobster roll.
Bar Harbor is a nice place to visit if you remember it is just a beautiful tourist place.
Once when we were here we took the ferry to Nova Scotia. Sherry says they have discontinued the ferry.
The boys are gone of course, I am just reminiscing.
Thanks for coming by the log.

You know something is wrong when:
The Supreme Court of the United States can rule that lower courts cannot display the 10 Commandments in their courtroom, while sitting in front of a display of the 10 Commandments…

Spotted on the way to Bar Harbor. I know it is a Buick and must be in the 30’s, but I am not sure.

That looked like a nice day! Not sure why Jack is going on a 40 day fast? I think it would be really neat to explore that part of the country, including Bar Harbor; looks like a great place to spend some time!
betty
The description of that yummy meal has my mouth watering. I do love lobster. Glad you got to have so many good times there in Maine. Lots to see and do. We had another night in the 40's here but it's to warm up in the 70's again today.
Is he really doing a 40 day fast? Good luck to him.
And Bar Harbor, Maine - there is some hotel there a teacher I worked with years ago went too and it was gorgeous.
I know what you mean - it is nice to think back when we had a great time with our children - grown or not!
I had no idea there were so many scenic things to see every where you go. Just great scenery.
«Louis» likes the contrast between the sailing ship and the cruise liner. Those modern cruise liners look like they are terribly top heavy! «Louis» wonders how stable they are.
«Louis» thinks the Buick may be 1928 model.
Yes, guess family would be a sailing boat, rather than a cruise ship.
Please have you all a wonderful Tuesday.
I can see that you are having a great time. Bar Harbor plus being with the boys has got to trump all other options!
I have not been that far north east....yet..lol.
Thanks, DD
Don't know why my comment doesn't show which I made on this post yesterday! I did enjoy the little that I saw of the state of Maine. Nice people and great scenery when one is allowed to lift his/her eyes and look into the distance. On the AT this can only be achieved by coming to a complete stop.
