Early Cars
Sherry and a 1937 Ford that was for sale in Charlotte
Today:
In this life’s race you cannot do everything, so we are selective. But looking back there are some things that would not have changed our life’s destination but may have added more flavor if we taken the time to include them. To me as a parent: I could have taken a little more time to enjoy our boys growing up.
A few things I regret.
Some wondered if we kept in contact Lois Brown. I regret we did not, nor Wayne Hodge, another sailor that I remember with a smile. (Had there been an internet 40 years ago I probably would have.)
I have mentioned I regret not asking mama and daddy more of their childhood.
I regret not graduating HS.
We were within a block or two of the Eiffel Tower and did not walk on over to it. I regret that and also that we did not visit the Louvre. (I tend to think, I will be back this way!) We were only in our 40-50s.
One of my top regrets was not continuing in a Spanish Class in Cuba taught by an exiled friend of mine. I could hear then, and had plenty of time. LOL
There are silly missed opportunities, like the $50 ’34 Ford, or the $50 an acre land. LOL Things like that are not understood by many of our youth today, because most have never been where they could not get $50!
I tell my son Mark (when it is brought up), why should I wish I had bought that empty lot in Key West for $10,000. (now valued at $200,000) ? I may as well wish I had won the lottery or invested in Microsoft or Amazon when it was at give away prices! LOL the hindsight for riches is silly. Every American in ‘hindsight’ could be a multimillionaire, no question. Those are not my regrets, we were blessed more than we dreamed. My regrets are the personal, mental ‘love’ things I regret just being too busy to take the time to ‘experience’ more of them at the time.

I think we all have regrets, but I think you nailed it. Most of our regrets that really matter are the ones that we didn't do with family and friends that we loved. I know I have a long list of those regrets that can't be undone. I can only hope the future generation listens to when I say things and then perhaps they won't have regrets.

I think we could do everything and say all we can say and still have regrets at the end.
Some things I used to regret turned out to be blessings.

Amen! I've been abundantly blessed, but still (think) I've more regrets than others. Foolish, self-centered priorities. Then again, I don't support 33 year old me would have listened, or understood. Great post!
Always think of you two when I see this quote: "Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
regrets are the things that i miss the most in my life.
I saw a 86 Labaron Convertible in mint condition when I did the interview today.
I thought of you.

We all have regrets. One who says he doesn’t have a single regret isn’t being honest with himself/herself.
Don’t be too tough on yourself.
We all have 20/20 hindsight.
You are a wise man....
I agree, we've all missed out on opportunities, we didn't see until thery were gone. But for the most part I don't have regrets only thankfulness for what I did and do have. We can't go back and change what we did, but every day we get a new chance and more new opportunities.
