Nice older cars
49 Olds, something like Dal had at Camp Geiger that he did the engine on.
Now…
Of course we had
to see our friends Dallas and Marian (She is not yet 79, the kid). Other than a couple friends from my
teens, Dallas is my longest standing friend. Over the years friends have passed on, but Dallas will always have a place in my
heart and life. You know how it is, there is something about the dude I just
like to be around. LOL
We married those girls and moved them to Camp Geiger Trailer Park within weeks of each other. SO a visit with them is always on the list of things to do when we are in this area.
Just a couple years back, Dal and Marian sold their nice home (and his antique tractor collection) to test the RV life. They have opted not to go full-time but are holding on to their RV for winters in Florida.
Dal is a mechanic. He once rebuilt or changed an engine in the parking lot with an adjustable wrench and channel locks.
He has a new project it is an old Massey Ferguson tractor. It will be a hand full, restoring it. He will enjoy it. We spent a lot of time catching up. They have 3 boys and 2 girls. Son John stopped by, we had never met him. He must be crazy like his dad. He lives in this area of Pennsylvania and works in New York.
John smiled when he said 'yeah, and I have a daughter in China and one in Hawaii.' It was a pleasure meeting him.
Dal & Marian’s ‘new to-them’ home is beautifully remodeled. I must say Dallas and I have some things in common. He bought the house at an auction without a real close look. They described the TOUGH remodel, but it is now done and a great job. With a sly smile Dal said, “It was much more than I envisioned!” I know the feeling!
Lisa: We are pretty close to Hershey. We have visited the factory, 'ain't nothing but chocolate!' LOL the town lights are the shape of Hershey's kisses. They did give us a 'kiss' when we finished the tour

How neat to see your friends and catch up with what is going on with them and to meet one of their children! Its great too to have a friendship of those many years! How funny that Ma was talking about friendships today and then you write about them, but friends are part of what make life worth living!
betty
Sounds like yall keep having fun times meeting up with old friends.
Thanks for the Hershey update. Now I want to go even more.
At work

Ah, this does my heart GOOD! So, will y'all be seeing one another again when they winter in Florida? I'm thinking friendships like yours make the folks at Hallmark jealous. :)
I am glad you are meeting and keeping up with your friends too - they are golden.
It's wonderful you are seeing the sights and old friends too. You do havae a lot in common with them and I'm sure there was lots to talk about. It's a rainy morning here. But the sun should come out later. Hope you have another wonderful day on your trip!
