Another year!!!!!!

(No pictures today the system won’t stay up long enough)
January 17th, 1939 my mama was glad it was over. I was here. It was announced throughout the known world, of course our world was South Gastonia, NC. I was born at home of course like most smart kids back then. It took nine months but I found a way out of there. I was disappointed later when I found out that everybody figured it out. I don’t remember any shepherds coming. But there was one Wise man in the house. When he heard me crying, he said, “Never again”.

I found the address of the house I where I was born a few years ago. I have never seen the place where I was born. I keep meaning visit the shrine they built there, I am sure at least that was done!

I received a wonderful Birthday card from Shirl. On the front it says, “IT IS A BLESSING TO HAVE A BROTHER LIKE YOU” She had many sweet things on the inside. She even sent her favorite Dennis the Menace cartoon. I am still puzzled. I know our postal service folks are honest, but the money was gone. She would never send me a card without at least $1000 in it. But as she finished the notes on the inside it was all explained, “Sorry brother I had written a $5000 check, but I had sealed this card before I realized I forgot to put it in. I will remember next year, Your loving Sister Shirl.” Man you don’t know how relieved I was. I had to ask forgiveness for accusing the USPS. Explanations from your sister mean a lot. Thanks Sis.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. Rain even sang happy birthday to me on face book. I am on face book mainly to keep in touch with short blurbs and of course to see pictures of the family and friends. Hey the video blew me away! I know nothing about the games or side effects of the place so don’t get mad if I don’t do all them thangs..

I put some pictures on and got a million responses. I was shocked that so many folks looked at the place. Dennis even commented, I remember him in church standing on his mama’s lap, he was a good kid.

Thanks for helping me celebrate this day, I am 71 now. I had no idea I would live this long. Funny thing, it doesn’t seem that long. In the Bible James says (paraphrased) “but what is your life, it is like a vapour, you are here a little while and then it vanishes.” This is one of those things you have to get old, before you realize the full impact of that statement.
Thanks, I ain’t gonna preach, come back soon,
Nite Shipslog
PS:
My friend Sonny taught me the Garden Rule:
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing aweed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of theground easily, it was a valuable plant. (Proven fact!)

I am sorry that you are having problems with the internet. But hope you are celebrating big and I bet it is much warmer where you are now. It's 46 here tonight. We are happy to have above freezing temps the past few days.
Take care.

Wow Jack, can I borry your sister next July when it's my birthday? Oh don't worry - just want her to teach my two sisters what sisters are for! I'll look for you on fb ... and I'm with you ... I never get into those games like "farmtown" and all the other "causes" and things. However I do enjoy fbook when I have time to read up on some of my friends activities there. Our State Office in TN has a spot there and keep us posted of events that way. Glad you had a good birthday! I'm about six months ahead of you. Love y'all.
