In leaving Nebraska, we were to pass through Lincoln. Lincoln is the home of Spunky, the Beagle. He lives with Joe and the lady we have come to know as LUCY, here in the world of Blogs. So, to save me postage I thought I would deliver my latest book as an Anniversary gift to Joe and Lucy.
We drove the motor home up their street, left it running with the blinkers on and I went across and up to the house.
As you can tell I was greeted at the door by the shortest of the family Spunky.
Joe refereed the first fight, as we went head to head. She finally forgave me for dropping in unannounced. (I had announced, she had not read it!)
Joe called it a draw, and made us shake hands and play nice.
Then he allowed me to pet the Spunky one. A real dog, a Beagle….
Folks, Lucy is a pretty lady and not half as mean as I expected! . Joe is a great guy with a grip of a young man, and a great smile. I wish I could have heard him, I needed to ask him some Mechanic questions about the Cummings. We couldn’t talk for Lucy and Sherry making a lot of noise.
Lucy is really very sweet and Joe was impressive. Spunky is getting up in age, but still is a lovable Beagle.
We could not believe they have lived in the same house for 42 years. I love the house, it is neat and just the right size. Oh yes, the Wishing well is prettier in person, now we have met two Cornhuskers.
Sherry ran out of the motor home so fast, she left the door open.
BTW, today is Lucy and Joe’s Anniversary, CONGRATULATIONS TO A GREAT COUPLE. We had planned to camp near Lincoln so we could try to have coffee or something together, but it did not work out. But it was wonderful to add one more Blogger to our list of ‘Ones we have met’. We have really been blessed to meet and see some of the cream of the crop of he human variety..

PS:
This quick meeting, was so much fun, even the maneuvering of the Coach and toad in town.

From Lincoln, man I have never seen so many trains and train cars.

I think that is wonderful. They
have a beautiful home and full of love. That is so good to see all
the pictures and they look good.
Lucy was my first blogger when you
got me set up with my new toy.
Thanks for putting memories on your
blog.
How exciting for you all! I imagine they were very surprised and happy too! Hope you all have a fantastic Friday! Another delightfully cool morning here with the windows wide open. It's going to heat up but only into the low 80's today. What a blessing!
I wish you guys would come by Boca Raton and stop by to see me!
Hugs to my favorite couple!
Jack and Sherry, I hope you didn't mind that I grabbed some of the pictures of the nicest people (you and Sherry) we would ever want to meet. Plus Spunky likes you. The entire family agrees. I am gradually coming down from the high I got.
Love this story entry.
This was so enjoyable. I love the face-off picture. And I am always such a sucker for a cute dog.
Lucy was my first blogger friend and a lovely lady, I'm glad you all got to meet. Love all the picture's of your visit. Take care. Jean
I will have to check out Lucy - I don't think I know her. They sure seem wonderful - and I know that they thought the same of you. Sandie
The train yard reminds «Louis» of one of the great train yards for the SNCF (the French railway system) on the southeast side of Paris.
How exciting for all of you. I bet you fell in love with Spunky, didn't you?
I just realized I had my fat top on and it looks like I was going to get the better of you. Good thing Joe stepped in. Lol I had forgotten how flat Ne. was till I saw those pictures.
How absolutely fun, Joe, Lucy and Spunky! And how wonderful you're meeting your blog buddies...one by one! :)
Love the story you told with pictures...ha. I know she was thrilled, glad you and Sherry were able to stop by. Have a great day!! Love from NC, Sheila
