Oatmeal is my wonder food

Early interesting Cars:

But for today:
I have mentioned my love for crackers and milk. I did not mention my respect of Oat meal.  For a few weeks now I have added at least 2 tablespoons of raw oatmeal to my crackers and milk. It does not change the taste of course, but does help with my control of cholesterol.

I was taking a Statin and having lots of problems with cramps and muscle soreness. Finally I lost a muscle in my right arm. That did it. I dropped the statin and increased my oatmeal intake.

I knew oatmeal worked because once on an extended trip in Texas I found a clinic to check my blood. Then I over loaded on oatmeal for a couple weeks and had it checked again, the difference for me was amazing. The bad was down like 50-60 points. I started taking the statin later after I had sorta forgotten about the goodness of oatmeal.

Once I quit the statin Sherry started adding a couple tablespoons of raw oats to our normal cold cereal I think the name of ours is Honey bunches of Oats. I put raisins in mine and she always uses blue berries.

I usually have an apple at night and she a banana. We both like nuts to snack on.

Anyway, I am just singing the praises of oatmeal and my cholesterol has continued to be ‘beautiful’ according to my Doctor.

Pills scare me, BUT I would never tell anyone else to vary their doctor's orders.  I won’t argue with Sherry either, she hands me a multivitamin daily and buddy, I take it.

I think Jilda’s inner ear problems stem from the infusions she took 10 years ago. That’s when her problems began.

Oatmeal is one of those wonder foods. It's good and good for us. And it's not expensive either. Good idea on adding a little to your other food. I often have it for breakfast and it does hit the spot. Better to use natural means of curing our ills when we can for sure.

I can't take any stations...I'm blaming them for my total knee replacement! The joint pain was awful! Glad you found a solution! Natural healing is the best.

I meant "statins"!

Good reminder, tend to forget about oatmeal! I'm also one who avoids pills, so far I take no prescription drugs. YAY

I like oatmeal! I have a packed of the instant kind every day for breakfast along with a hard boiled egg. That is great that it has helped lower your cholesterol so much!

Nick eats as bowl of oatmeal with blueberries every morning. It helps his cholesterol. He refuses to take any meds either. I love that people find natural ways to better health. I never take pills either unless its a Tylenol for a minor pain for fever. I have also changed my diet to try and eat more natural foods that are good for you. It's hard to do But I'm working on it and learning new things.

Happy Monday

How I wish Tom liked -- or might even consider -- oatmeal. Gotta use my brain to figure how I might slip some of that goodness into his food without notice. Following his exam last week, he had a call from a dietician and propaganda (*smile*) in the mail.

We had a bit of a scare this morning which prompted a trip to the ER. All's OK for the time being, but hopefully he'll be more receptive to making some changes.

Oatmeal is a great food. Not the instant Quaker Oats, but the real stuff. Also love steel cut oats (Irish) but it takes time to make.

Eat well, eat happy.
