Memorable car of the day:
I felt like this 3 weeks ago:
Now it is more like this........For today:
I have been
very fortunate in my life. Up until this year or so, I have had very little
medical complications. I am now approaching 83 (jan) and the last couple years
I have been dog bit, snake bit and spent time in the emergency room with my
stomach. Then about three weeks ago I very ignorantly hurt ‘myownself’ doing
exercises. My back took me to the floor.
Funny
that, two of the three biggies happened on Monday mornings when Sherry was
meeting with her classmates and friends, leaving me alone; trusting me to be the
sane and logical person that I REALLY am. LOL
Today and
last Monday morning she has stayed with me, I get the feeling she doesn’t trust
me. LOL She assures me it is not lack of
trust but because of the Covid situation. Do I believe her? Of course (HA HA!)
unlike me, she does not fib (?)
I must
be honest though, as I lay in the bed three weeks ago I actually considered the
fact this might be my life from now on, lying on
my back.
But as
I type today I feel MUCH better. I think I am about 70-80% back. Even some SAFE light exercise and I
attended church for the first time yesterday, shocking my pastor.
Yep, I am
at the point I can again think of a POSSIBLE attempt at an AT ‘Thru-Hike’. I
had a good ciapractor and a wife that waited on me hand and foot. (Yes, even
leaving the commode lid up) Of course I milked that for all I could. LOL
Anyway
thanks for your concern for an old man’s health. Y’all be SWEET.
AND thanks for your comments and laws listed in your area, Sherry & I got a lot of good laughs.....

I'm so glad you are feeling better and even getting out a bit. There is nothing like some time in bed to make you appreciate being able to get around. It's always good to say thanks and I'm thankful to be able to know you and your sweet Sherry.
Glad to hear you are 70-80% back to normal, Jack!! I think you have to be 100% plus to attempt the AT, LOL :) Sherry indeed is a very special blessing for you to take such good care of you! She must really love you!

Although I haven't commented much cause of all the health issues we've got. (My hubby turned 82 yesterday, so he knows where you are coming from.) I will tell you Jack that you have been on my mind alot. And i've been saying my prayers. I am relieved to hear you are on the mend and almost back to your old self. Hope your progress Continues. seeing your post today brought a BIG smile. Take care dear blog buddy.
As for me, I've missed a lot of your stuff, dealing with my own issues. Cannot seem to get my blood pressure regulated, even with medicine ~ which I hate. I'm a take alfalfa and other vitamins, no drugs, but oh well. Felt so good this a.m. I took Glenn Dawg's big cushion out of the kennel and hosed it down with vinegar n' water. Just now, I hit Publix for last minute shopping and requested help to the car; I was feeling light headed AGAIN. It's HE double hockey sticks getting older, but as IrmaNee would say "I am blessed" that it's not as bad as it could be. You slow down Jack, I want to bake the cake for your 100th birthday party, Sherry's as well. She get the raspberry cheesecake, my specialty!!! Love and hugs, Glenda
Dogs and snakes and tummy issues aside, I'm glad to see your sense of humor's unscathed!
70-80% recovery's great, but please don't go rushing things. BTW, have you asked your chiroprator if he/she's interested in joining you on the AT? You know, just in case.
I am so glad to hear you are getting better, Jack. I shall continue to pray for you and yours.
Thank you fro your kind words about my book. I have replied on my Blog.
God bless you and Sherry and family.
I’m so glad your getting better. And even more glader that you made it to church. I skipped church today. I got around somebody with covid last week so I didn’t want to chance being around people a church. I feel fine though.
Sherry is a good care giver. You need to listen to her.
Nite.

I'm sooo glad you're feeling ' mo'better.' Let's keep it that way......as for the UT, I loved the idea of your chiropractor hiking with you.....ask, it can't hurt any more than your back. Stay healthy, Mr. Darnell. That's the key.
loven'hugs from up north where our 1/4 inch of rain last night didn't bring the creek up at all. I wish some of the flooding down south would just trickle a bit our way. We are very dry ~
