The Big day

Memorable car of the day:

For today:

I have heard time and again: Right now, this is the oldest you have ever been. But most all of us know our birthday and use that date to state our age.

Above on one of our honey moons.

So today my sweetheart celebrates 84 pretty years. I have known for many years than I am the luckiest dude in the world.  This girl is a joy to know and live with. She is my best friend.

She has followed me over a lot of the world. She has NEVER once complained about where we lived, the location nor the building. We have lived in tents, vans, a remodeled chicken house, trailers, motor homes and has never once complained.

(Sherry at work)

When we lived in Arlington, VA my mama lost both her legs and was bed fast.  Sherry quit a good job and came back to NC to take care of my mama, until I could arrange a transfer here. She loved and treated my mama like a baby until she died.

(Son Mark, Mama and Sherry)

In our late 60s she came up with the best adventure of our lives. She suggested we backpack the Appalachian Trail. Over the next few years we hiked close to 1900 miles of the AT. One year we hiked 900 miles in the woods and mountains.

This lady is an angel and the best wife, lover and mother in the world.

HAPPY 84TH BIRTHDAY

TO  SHERRY,

YOU ARE THE BEST!

PS:

DIL Corinne brought Sherry this beautiful Bouquet and the sweet hand made card below that opens into a flower arrangement. (Of course I had to put it next to my card that opened to an old Ford Pickup truck she gave me last year.)

Happy Birthday blessings, Sherry!
I know nothing can beat what your sweetheart's written ... but I'm thinking the news from your doctor comes mighty close.
I hope your day -- and your New Year, too -- are filled with lots of reasons to smile!

You two are the most amazing couple that I've ever known. Jack, you're renowned as the "Best of the best" who ever pastored our Church. The Conrads have never forgotten the fun times when you did all that "How do you get Smucker's Peanut Butter out of your mouth?" And all the other goofy things you created out of nowwhere to make all of us laugh. We loved the Haywoods, the Mosses as they were great. We adored you and Sherry [and, of course little Jackie, that darlin' and Mark when he came along] Your family meant so much to us, perhaps because you scooped up Mama's Chicken 'n Dumplings as if it were a heavenly meal. We had it every Sunday, YUM! On your visits to the farm, it was a menu item as our Mama wanted to make y'all happy!
I will never forget the day Fred Taylor announced from the Pulpit "Thanks Sister Conrad for the pumpkin pie ~ it was a little bit musty ~ WE MUST HAVE SOME MORE".
What a wonderful life!!! Warm hugs, I'm delighted to know that Sherry is going to be ours for a number of years! She is so very special to all who know her, especially us.
