Home base, NC

 Today’s automobile:

I love this one and it is not in a desert!

 Some thoughts for today:

Yep sticker shock.  Actually paying the high prices for diesel is MUCH worse than reading them. LOL  This is our last fill-up this trip:

Not too bad (DID I JUST WRITE THAT?) I am wrong, it is terrible… (At least I tried to get a better picture of the guilty pump, then still had to help it!!). Also when we park it we will have 3/4 tank to take off again....  Maybe prices will lower.

What you may not know about pumping diesel. Truckers are the largest users of that fuel. Most trucks carry at least 200 gallons of fuel. Their tanks can take the fuel as fast as the pump can run.  RV coaches are different. They have a long neck leading down to the tank with anti-syphon devices and WILL NOT take fuel fast. Today we saw a sale: Diesel ONLY $5.25  well compared to the $5.70 down the road it was a sale. New truck stop tanks pumped well into the RV. SURPRISE!

Speaking of truckers, can you imagine the bill when they fill-up? Some carry up to 300 gallons. Mileage at best is 10mpg, our RV gets 7-8 mpg, but remember we are moving our home and towing the car. The car is of course not running.

Yep the feral cats were waiting. Below are Stormy Daniel's kitties. The left is Scarty Cat and right is Tom. And yes as someone said, we might have a new litter. WE do.

The neighbor s just moved them from the abandoned house next door to our house. Scarty Cat is the mother, Tom may be the dad who knows with the ferals.

Neighbor Richard said there are 4 kitties we could spot only 3 One yellow one above and the two blacks below.  Tom lets me pet him, the Mom has always been standoffish, thus her name. But she does let me touch her at feeding time. Imma check to see what the neighbors call her, so I can use her name.

So glad to see you home and still have all those kittens to enjoy. With this newwst batch you will have no end to the fun. Hope they do well and that you enjoy being home. Gas is a problem as far as the price goes, but at least we still have it and it hasn't run out.

Oh, how cute! Another litter! Glad you did get home safely, Jack and Sherry, high fuel costs and all! I think we are seeing the results of the truckers having to pay the fuel costs with the price of groceries going up, up, and then up!

Those wee ones are adorable!
I do believe every penny counts these days; try and just say a quiet 'thank you' for having the means to fill my tank. Gosh, I hadn't even considered the plight of those truckers -- particularly those who own/operate their own rigs. Like farmers, theirs is no job for the weak. We'll get through!

So thankful you got home safely. Now sit back and relax; and enjoy the company of the cats. They look wonderful.

God bless.

Welcome home and I'm glad you arrived safe and sound even if you did have to arrive broke! Yikes...what prices. I see the kitties are glad you're back and I hope the babies find homes and get fixed so not so many will be feral. Enjoy the home fires again and have a good week!

Is that a little yellow kitten behind the board? Ya know, people often take those first as they are becoming a hard color to find.
They are all so cute! I love kittens but they turn into cats!
