Cars of beauty:
Nice '55 Ford
For Saturday’s stuff:
Everyone has seen the giant murals on buildings and the neat ‘graffiti’ on box cars. Besides the talent, have you ever thought of the amount of paint it takes to do one of those murals 50 feet high and 100 feet wide?
I always
wonder how many cans of spray paint it takes to ‘decorate’ a box car with some
of that ‘neat graffiti?
Well I have a wall I am going to cover. I painted it the other day for moisture resistance. I played with a ghost Indian on a horse, looked a little silly but it was fun.
Soooo I rounded up some colors of latex paint. I had about 4, did some mixing and started on that wall the size about 9x 14 feet. This is what I came up with:
Then I decided to make a Coke commercial since our son Matt works for Coke now. Stella’s GG (the other Great Grand ma also works for Coke.
Then Sherry & I decided to make a last commercial before I cover the mural with sheetrock. LOL
It took about 3 hours and over a gallon of paint, BUT it was fun.
MY neighbor tells me her daughter did a 3 story building in Hickory, NC. I gotta go see it.

PS: Some folks take time to paint greetings cards, I know Jilda does, down in Ricks world. But this is our granddaughter Megan's work, SWEET!
I love it. She B sweet!

I like the mural. You did a good job. Glad you took some pictures before you cover it.
You two are just too cute!
Nick said you should keep the mural.
Happy Saturday

Good work on the paint job. Too bad you are covering it up. I never tried to do anything that big. I think it takes a special talent to do something that big.
I love this so much … particularly the actors in the Coke commercial! :) Oh, please tell me you're kidding about covering it up?
Until we had our home in Arizona painted, it never dawned on me the sheer amount of paint … and unfortunately, its cost.
So cute with Megan's work! I love your mural, Jack, and you and Sherry's coke commercials. So original!! Something fun to do to use up paint. I do like looking at murals painted on buildings around town. Lots of talent out there!
betty
Well you people know how to have fun. I like the mural and the posing ads. LOL. Gosh that '55 Ford is awesome. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Your mural is cool. You really should keep it. I did my son's room long ago, a forest scene with deer, river, canoe, tent, etc. and clouds on the ceiling. He wants to take it down if I ever decide to paint it. He can also have the tree of birds in the hallway. lol. that was tricky doing a ceiling over stairs. You have talent. Don't cover it up. I love your near-mirror image.
Love lil' Megan's work also. So sweet. The coke ads cool ya right off on such a hot day.
loven'hugs from up north where the sun shines so bright and hot today as we finished cutting nearly 3000 board feet of lumber this past week in our sawmill. PHEW !!! No wonder we nap.
That mural is awesome, so is Stella's work! And I'd love to ride in that floral painted car. Love from Chobee, stay safe.
