Cars of importance to someone:
For today:
Ma was saying how fast Childhood goes and it does. Strange the
stages of our lives, and how soon we move on. I remember hearing the song in the 60’s, I was still a kid, I was
carried away thinking of kids growing up.
Peter, Paul and Mary sang:
Puff the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff
……..
A dragon lives forever, but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant's rings make way for other toys
One gray night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff, that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar
…….
I have been singing and whistling that
along with ‘Being born the next of kin to the wayward wind’. I just read on a
blog that music is good, live music is better. (MA again I think)
My live music is
for me anyone else would wonder about calling it ‘Live Music’.
I didn’t
have an imaginary dragon, but I flew my little planes all over the place. I
could sit in an empty barrel laid over on it’s side and fly all over the world.
Childhood is
WONDERFUL, honest, I can remember some of it.
Now about the
songs I sing, I only sing a few lines of each, but I wear them out. LOL

LOL, now I'm going to have this song stuck in my mind, Jack :) Its all good! I do remember the song! Childhood does go by fast though when we are living it, it seems like it is just creeping a long so slowly!! If only we could tell ourselves to slow down and enjoy it and not rush to grow up!
betty
Yes, the 60s and 70s created some very good songs. They come to mind every now and then.
God bless.
Thanks Jack! Now I will be singing that song all day.
Happy Saturday
Lisa
How did you know, "Puff" is one of my all-time favorites. A lonely 13 y/o with an over-active imagination.
And yes, I've still been known to brush away a tear or two at the end when the heartbroken dragon sadly slipped into his cave.
Thanks for the mention of my blog posts. There are things we never forget in our childhood and that includes the songs. One of my favorites was always You are My Sunshine! I sang it to my children and now to grandchildren Don't they make our days so much brighter. Good memories today, thanks for sharing !
So luv this post, I do remember "Puff, the Majic Dragon" one of my favorites! And Shirl's Studebaker is such a classic, thanks for sharing! Love and hugs from Chobee, Glenda
I also loved that song and the imagination it inspired. Childhood does go by quickly but we are only as young as we feel at the moment. This is a great moment of remembering great songs, great thoughts. Music is so important as it brings everyone together in harmony.
loven'hugs from up north where I'm having a most miserable allergy day and the pollen count is even down...dangitall. Have a great weekend.
