Life is Too short to finish a bad book

 Memorable Automobiles from The Past:

This is a 1955 Chevy, I thought maybe your had forgotten what they looked like. ;-)

For today:

I will not continue a book of fiction I cannot get interested in after a couple chapters. If it hasn’t gotten my interest in 2 chapters (Maybe 3), I have no problem with putting it down.

Funny, I am reading a Western and realized after 4 chapters I have already read this.  But since I cannot remember how it turned out, I will finish it again. I do forget more since Sherry has gotten older.

BTW did you ever use or encounter a need for Roman Numerals?

(Thank you Albert, I didn't need to know that!!)

As an instructor I once started a lesson plan using Roman numerals, boy was that a great mistake. That was long before word processors. I was not a great typist and retyping 6 pages was WORK!

MMXXI is 2021 this year.

LXXXII is 82 my age. It takes 6 letters to do 82 and 5 to do 2021. Roman Numerals are interesting but fairly useless to me.

We are geared up to start a new week, hope you are; and are HAPPY with LIFE.  Life is GOOD!

I'm with you, Jack, if I can't get into a book by the first few chapters I'm done with it. Too many books out there to read and not enough time to read them all :) I read mainly when I'm on the treadmill and I kind of skim while I'm reading. I don't often remember the book I've read a few months down the line so I found myself reading a book I had read before a few weeks ago. As I hadn't remembered much of it I did finish it and enjoyed it. Hopefully I won't read it again :)

Our language is funny. I was thinking of the words "dear, bear, wear, tear, fear, hear, gear" and how bear and wear sound nothing like dear, tear, fear, hear, gear. No wonder some people say it is hard to learn the English language!

This was a fun one to read. I’m gonna read them to Nick when he comes down for for breakfast.

Happy Monday

What a delightful way to start my day!
That Albert Einstein quote is SO true. I'm sure you, too, have known 'well educated' idiots.

Books? Yep. I used to think I had to muddle through something, even if I wasn't enjoying it -- particularly if I'd spent good money on it. Not any more! So thankful for the many free or inexpensive downloads available to our fingertips.

Oh, by the way! I read something heartbreaking on Facebook last night about Geraldine Largay, the lady who became lost and ultimately died while on the AT. There's a book about it: "When You Find my Body: The disappearance of Geraldine Largay." Of course, I thought about y'all.

Have a good day.

I too agree, If a book doesn't hold my interest, I'll stop reading it and start a new one. There are many to choose from, and each choice is different. I too will read a book over again if I don't remember the ending. I enjoyed the interesting play on words You gave today. They can get confusing. Hope you have a wonderful new week!

Yes, I will give a book the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you have to say bye bye! I have been reading a lot since my surgery and bought a book that looked really good. And it was...the first time I read it! Yep, bought a book I already read. Like you, I read it again!

Lately I have no time to read books so have opted for gardening and furniture refinishing articles or magazines. I too, won't finish a book that hadn't grabbed my interest quickly. Life's too short to waste. Pretty interesting facts. I agree with no wonder the English language is so hard to learn. yep, gotta understand what ya know, Albert.
loven'hugs from up north where the house is smelling like BBQ ribs, oven style. My grill needs fuel. lol Have a great week in this heat.
