I guess I will always remember 10-10-10

This car was new, when Ruth was born!!!

Ruth and the Lord up above decided it was time today around 1:30. Sherry carries the phones everywhere, but today we missed Helen's call, so she left a message.

Of course in our family a part of history is gone.

I hesitate to mention it, because of who it is, but Shirl is now the mama of our clan being the most senior. (Is that better than saying the oldest?) Don't throw things Shirl, remember excertion can cause trouble.

We have honestly had some good visits with the family. I have learned somethings and shared somethings. Having been around for 87+ years she has covered some history. Like some on here that were alive before there was a word like television, dial tone and automatic transmissions.

Thanks for coming by the log.

PS:

Thanks for all your support and prayers. I heard a statement once that I agree with, "If Nanny Darnell ain't gong to heaven, the rest of us ain't got a chance."

Wait unitl Lucy and Sheila reads what you said
about me not wanted to say my age. I didn't have
an input into when I was born. I could be like our Dad and stay 42 for about 10 years.

You are right Ruth was a trooper and weathered
many storms and still kept her head above the
water. A very sweet Lady and her memories will
stay in our hearts.

Wheels do indeed lift up what once was on the ground. Thoughts are with you, wishing you all a safe road ahead and a good start into the new week.

I'd like to be express our condolences to you and all of the family who feel the loss of Ruth so keenly. May the Lord strengthen and comfort you (ALL of you) in ways that only He can do. You are loved and appreciated here in the Brannen household.

I think it's time Shirl started claiming you were the oldest...that you've been fibbing all this time. So sorry about Ruth, prayers for all of the family. Take care, Sheila

My sincerest sympathies to you both and all the family. I still have some older aunts and uncles but am the oldest of my immediate family. The circle of life just keeps on going.

Jack and Sherry ~ I read this by Henry van Dyke and just wanted to share:

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."

"Gone where?"

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says, "There, she is gone!" there are other eyes watching her coming, and there are other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" And that is dying.

- Henry van Dyke (1852 – 1933) American author, educator, and clergyman

{{HUGS}} I LOVE YOU!!

So sorry for your loss. Leave Shirl alone. She is just a spring chick.

Jack & Sherry, I prefer to think that we didn't lose someone we love, but rather that they were "promoted" to be face to face with our Lord. "hugs from afar"

Thinking of you and yours. It makes me stop and think that I am not far from her age. I will be 81 Nov. 16th. I hope I can make it to 90 with a sharp mind and a worn out computer. Seriously, my thoughts are with you all.
