On the move

For today:
We moved today. It is always nice to be on the road. But it is sorta disconcerting when you pull up to a gate and say, “We have reservations for two weeks,” and the lady looks at your printed reservations and says,”I’m sorry but nothing shows in my computer.”  After some talking back and forth with no solid results we decide to call the SUPER CENTER OF ALL RESERVATIONS ON EARTH!  The one who has guns to enforce their way if needed.
We walk over to our coach fire up the generator turn on the computer as Sherry makes the call on the telly!
Usually I cannot say this, but the nice lady on the other end says, “Let me talk to the clerk there, YOU DO HVE RESERVATIONS!”
We then walk the 100 yards back to the office as Sherry talks on the way.(While we are away two more coaches come up as she finishes another) The clerk is obviously not familiar or new and asks if she can do the two new arrivals first, to keep traffic from backing into the highway.
Here is where I sometimes dislike myself, We have waited 20-30 minutes, these folks came up after us. The lady hurriedly talked on the phone and admitted we did have reservations and we are still waiting.  “I say, of course go ahead we are going nowhere!” So we wait while the others are processed.
An assertive person would have said, “It will only take three minutes, give us a site and let us get out of this wind.”
Anyway, we got settled at a site and are now set up for two weeks. We are near Clermont, Florida. Not two miles from the “once famous Citrus Tower.” The tower was known at the level of Silver Springs and Cypress Gardens. It used to overlook thousands of acres of Orange trees, now the overlook is thousands and thousands of house roofs.

Glad it worked out in the end, Jack, but unnerving trying to sort it all out. Logistically, you should have been the one to go first but good that you did what I call "put on your patience shoes" and waited while she helped the other two. Enjoy your time there!

You two have lots of patience waiting like that first to confirm reservations and then to let others go ahead of you Nice it all worked out and you are settled for the next two weeks. Guess that will be where you celebrate Christmas. Good you found shelter art the Inn.

You are a Good Man, letting the 2 units that came in behind you check in ahead of you, I would have told her; NO, you can check us in now and they can follow us in !!!!! Looks like you will be settled for Christmas !!!! Stay Warm and enjoy the visit !! love from the sub zero North Country ! Gary & Anna Mae

Oh my goodness! Jack, you're a better person than I'd have been. I hope that clerk learned a lesson about not believing everything she sees (or doesn't) on her computer. Me thinks you two are due an apology … but don't go holding your breath. Ha!

how rude for that lady to let the other two go before you. glad you are settled, at long last. enjoy your new home for the next couple weeks.

I probably would have done the same thing you did when that lady asked you to wait, but I would have been boiling mad. Not so if it had been my husband though she would have heard the bad side of him. ( smile) I'm glad y'all are settled in and hope you have a nice stay. Cool weather up here in Opp this morning so I plan to get out for a while this afternoon. Take care, Jean.

That would be frustrating but you handled it like a gentleman and I hope you enjoy your next 2 weeks and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Wow. I would have been steaming.
But maybe she was new. Glad you got in and settled for Christmas.
I would love to see those orange trees.

You are soooooo nice. I can't say either of us would have been so patient. I applaud you, my friend. Now that you're settled, have a most wonderful Christmas with your family, take lots of walks and do your best to see groves of orange trees somewhere. Sometimes progress burns me. I'd much rather see the trees too.
love n' hugs from up north where Christmas is coming with warmer weather.
Merry Christmas from our home to yours, wherever it will be.
