I have always wondered about trees covered with Ivy. If it would actually hurt the tree. So I had a chance to ask a friend who majored in Forestry about that. He looked at some of our trees and said, "This ivy will not damage your trees, however it should be killed back. The Forestry service has determined that it is the extra weight during rains, collecting weight causes many tree falls."
He explained I should take a whack out of each vine of at least a foot in each vine. Some of these vines are 3", but most are much smaller. After about a half our I did get a mask.
So I spent today in the woods (This only an acre, but it has a million trees, LOL)
As far as I know I have never had allergies, but since coming in I have sneezed constantly and my nose is dripping. I stop every line here to catch the flow.
On a very serious note our friend Mary Ann has been moved to Winston Salem, NC. She is not doing well at all, and the family cannot even go in due to a new covid case.
I hope to be back on here soon, But this sneezing and nose makes typing a little tough. I did stuff paper towels up my nose and it ran out past them. LOL
Y'all take care and be safe. If someone suggests you cut Ivy, think twice. LOL
