Memorable Automobiles from The Past:
FIRST: AH HA, Lisa is right in her comment:
Wait... I want to solve the
“D” in fridge....It used to be called a “Frigidaire”. Have a good day. Lisa…
She is absolutely right! How did I miss that?
Fridge does come from the product name, Frigidaire, not Refrigerator. Thanks…
Humans are very ignorant of REAL life at times. You know there
are things that will kill you if you eat them, right? Try arsenic. Or if you
have a bad allergy to peanuts, and eat a hand full, you will suffer and
(I learned that once when camping at Standing Indian in NC once.
I have told it here before. The man would have died had the Ranger not gotten
him to the hospital in time.)
I know folks up in Wisconsin that grow mushrooms to eat or sell. I
don’t know when I became aware you could die from eating MANY KINDS of
mushrooms, but I became leery and only eat what I can buy in the produce
An acquaintance of our family, known to me as ‘Doc’ once with a
bad case of sugar diabetes. He refused to follow a logical, prescribed
diet. He loved cake and ice cream. He actually made a statement, “I will eat
what I want to, if it shortens my life 10 years, SO BE IT!”
He was in his 40s, his mind was picturing, just dying at 60 vs 70
yrs of age. He never thought about the suffering before death he would experience.
Both legs were amputated due to the disease.
NOR that his mind would be stolen due to the disease.
During the last few years of his life he asked my BIL, “Why did
God allow this to happen to me? I have served Him, lived a Christian Life now
look at me!”
BIL said the man had enough pain without reminding him that he had basically
asked for his condition.
My mama also had her legs amputated, but from lack of use, NOT
diabetes. Thankfully mama’s mind left her and she didn’t seem to know her legs were
gone, THAT was a blessings.
A sad smile at the above situation. I was talking to Doc’s
daughter about our parents’ conditions, I said to her, “At least Doc hadn’t
lose his memory.”
She quickly said, “Jack, dad is crazy as a bed bug!”
Lesson: We SHOULD we should pay close attention to our doctor on
serious health issues.
