Random acts of Kindness

From what I feel here in bloggersville MOST bloggers are subject to doing random acts of kindness.  Maybe not as big as some I have heard of but on the level of a meal, smile or some clothes to someone in need.

Taking time to assist someone across a busy street, a smile at a harried clerk, a smile with some of us old folk as you help us find our car in a parking lot!  I read this joke today and wanted to know if the glass of water is a random act of kindness or not?
A small boy is sent to bed by his mother.
[Five minutes later]
"Mom..."
"What?"
"I'm thirsty. Can you bring me a glass of water?"
"No. You had your chance. Lights out."
[Five minutes later]
"Mom..."
"WHAT?"
"I'm THIRSTY... Can I have a glass of water?"
"I told you NO! If you ask again I'll have to spank you!!"
[Five minutes later]
"Mom..."
"WHAT??!!"
"When you come in to spank me, can you bring me a glass of water?"

OK, tell me you wouldn’t bring the boy a drink and hug him!  LOL
A friend of mine pastors a Baptist Church in town. One Sunday afternoon in a local restaurant a lady came to his table. “I am Ruth Kendrick I was in your congregation at Unity this morning.”
“I certainly hope you were blessed.”
She stammered a little then said, “ Y-you didn’t have it today, did you?”
Joe stammered a little himself and replied, “Please come back, I will try to do better.”
I guess you can tell I am lost tonight. I even thought I had posted night before last, I didn’t have it then either!  Hahaha  Please come back, I will try to do better!

Acts of kindness...YES, I would have given that little boy a glass of water AND a hug. We, my lil sis and I had an act of kindness happen to us not long ago. While staying out of town during a family member hospital stay, we had coffee or a small meal at the same restaurant several times, sometimes way late into the night. Frazzled and tired, we were greeted with, "How's your brother doing?" by the waitress of 3 nights before. We ordered, ate, asked for coffee to go and the piece of free pie that came with the meal. Going to pay, we were gratefully surprised to find that we owed nothing., our bill had been taken care of. We left, still in shock of the kindness to us as we tried to figure out who was so kind, one of the waitresses or management?, who?. We promised to pay it forward as we left, a little lighter spirited. So, it really does happen. I learned a very valuable lesson. Like the song goes, always stay humble and kind.
Just so ya know Jack, I'm always lost but have been found.
Love the GTO, that's a year older than I had. I loved it's gusto. Too bad they're no longer made.

My mind sometimes takes a vacation. We all have blank periods in life but
things will finally get back to normal. You will be OK..I ask two of my friends one 91 and one 93 they said that's Life..So we will have to deal with minds doing crazy things. Those ladies still drive and go shopping. They are amazing.

June 16, 2010 I had my Stroke ! I am doing the best I can, somtimes while playing a song I stop in the middle of it as I have no idea of what the words or music is. I also sometimes cannot remember a word I need, My Honey can not tell me the word and I get frustrated but thats life. My Memory is OK to a point. We all just do the best we can!!!
You 2 take care, love you 2 from the cold, snowy North!!!
