I do my blog entries in MS Word. I am typing this sentence and nothing is appearing. I will stop now and it will catch up inna minute. Does that happen to you? I timed it, it took MS Word 5 minutes to load for this entry. I just wanted to say I am really not depressed, I am one happy dude. BUT I do work with a slow system.
I tell my sweetheart that I would much prefer to be ‘On the Road’. My last two entries have been sorta down, but really I am not.
Of course last night I did notice during our nightly game of dominoes (BTW Sherry is beating the socks off me) that a bulb (or two) was out in our dining room light fixture. So after the game I climbed on a chair and with a foot on the table removed the globe.
Whilst I located two bulbs Sherry washed the globe. Imma cool guy. I replaced two bulbs. Then holding the newly washed fixture, I climbed ONTO the table AND……. My world went crazy, I dropped the globe, heard it break into a thousand pieces as I was losing my balance. THE TABLE COLLAPSED. Our antique table’s end leg broke. Of course I am a slick dude of 80. I slide part way with the table cloth and jumped to the wall..
I was so impressed when my girl ran over, hugged me very tight and asked if I was hurt. Of course fortunately, I was not hurt in the least. (If I would have thought fast enough I could have really milked that for all it was worth! Maybe limped a little)
This girl asked me oncet, “What if a ship you were on would sink in the middle of the ocean, what would you do?”
My answer, “I would swim home to you sweetheart, what else?”
Funny, I meant it. I have always tried to think positive when it was me, against the world. I know I could have been hurt in the table incident, and I will try to be careful. I did think of a ladder (I have several) but had no doubt the table would hold me. I have heard of people dancing on them!
I am blessed, and very fortunate.
Nite Shipslog
PS: I fixed the table leg of course, we stopped by Lowes and bought a temp globe. All is well. We also finished JoAnn’s doors and she is happy.
Your Oxymoron for today:
Why are they called " stands"
when they are made for sitting?

So now your dancing on tables.
I'm glad you were not hurt and Sherry is a sweetie for sure.

Glad you are okay but what a mess I'm sure it was to clean up after! Was at church the other day for a meeting and 2 chairs over from me collapsed and the woman sitting on it fell to the floor. She was okay too. Funny how she sat in it for about 15 minutes or more before it collapsed.
Sherry is indeed a good nurse to you!
betty
Oh, thank goodness you're OK!
I nearly went 'splat' yesterday when little Grace came and stood beneath my feet. (Then again, I've never been known for my coordination.) Hey, I believe more accidents happen at home than we'd like to believe.
Normally, when my beloved and/or I make unwise decisions, we don''t do so well. Phew, what coulda been.
That is not the kind of dance anyone of us would want to do. I'm too am very glad you weren't hurt. Nice you even got the table leg fixed in short order. I've learned that lesson well, always use a ladder. A chair flipped out on me once when I was hanging curtains and I brown my foot falling on it. Always use a ladder, especially when you have a choice. No more dancing on the tables.
Broke my foot that is. Had to keep of it for 6 weeks.
Jack, there are much better ways to table dance. :+) Mercy, you had an angel watching over you. When I need light bulbs changed, I wait until Andy is here. He's 6'6" and just reaches without having to use a ladder. I'm glad you weren't hurt....more than your pride.
loven'hugs from up north where the pole shed the guys are building is about half done and looking great. The weather has been cooperating too.
