To create a little trail

A favorite car
1995 Chevy Tahoe & 1995 Ford Explorer . These were new when I built this Condo
We lived here about 5 years then moved into the motor home for 20 years, now we are back.

Now:
When I bought this acreage it was wooded. The twins Joshua and Stephen were about 6 years old. I was ‘watching’ them one day and we walked the land. They said, “We love walking in the forest grandpa.”
We do not have a lot of woods here, but more than most in town. Honey suckles and ivy cover much of the ground in the trees. The words have stuck with me, “We love the forest.” So I decided a while back to try to make a sort of nature path on three sides of the land that is wooded. Maybe their kids can walk it.
At times I have made some progress. I have expanded the two bridges over ditches to about 4 ft. so I can take the riding mower into the ‘forest’.
Today I discovered two old bed spring sets. Remember them, they were before ‘box springs’. It took a few hours to dig them out of the entwined vines. There should be some use for them as art. LOL.  Then I discovered more nests of bottles.
It is nice not being in a hurry, but I am anxious to start dressing it up with ‘stuff’, such as concrete figurines of a little deer, frogs, rabbits and ducks which I have already.
This keeps me off the street and out of trouble, methinks.
Land history: I built 3 houses to sell here. Later I did two large condos for ourselves and my sister and her hubby. We still have the condos. One side is rented to a nice couple and we are back in the other side. That rent about covers our taxes and insurance.

Nite Shipslog
Your Oxymoron for today:
Why is it called "after dark" when it really is "after light"?

That sounds like a pretty place to take a walk. It is good you are constantly working, LOL. You probably stay out of trouble that way :)

What a fantastic thing to do for the family. I loved going into the woods when I was a kid and spent a LOT of time there. My father loved the words also. Hope you post some pictures as you get it set up. Hugs- Diana

I love this idea! Darnell's Enchanted Forest! Like Diana said, I hope you'll share pictures?
A few years ago Tom's DIL rescued a crib's springs and mounted it vertically at the end of a hallway. She uses it to display greeting cards, photographs - even the kids' drawings. So clever!

I think that is a great idea - be sure when it is done to tell them so they know it is there!

My Ted has over 300,000 miles on his GMC truck..he says he is going for 4. LOL Hate giving up an old vehicle for something new , with too many bells and whistles. ..that we do not need. I love the idea of you making a nice path for your loved ones to walk and enjoy nature. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

We will be "Out Back" as soon as the first Frost and less daylight and the leaves drop, we will be cutting some Paths into the woods in the back of the lot ! Great minds think alike as I read your post on your "Trails", Bed Springs up here were chained behind a lawn mower or 4 wheeler and that is how the final grade was put on a lawn by dragging them over it till smooth. You and your Honey take care !! sending love and Prayers for Big Mark ! Gary and Anna Mae

You ARE always busy at something so I'd think you have very little time to get into trouble. It's nice you have place to walk and even be able to mow with your riding mower. It takes a lot of work to get everything done when it comes to landscaping. Adding lawn ornaments does a lot and there are lots of pretty ones out there, but haven't seen any using bed springs. It'll be interesting to see what you do with them.

I love finding treasures and turning them into art. I can’t wait to see what you do with the old box springs. Which I still believe are comfortable to sleep on.
