Yard sculpture or decorations

Historical Picture
Late 1800's Pair of working Moose.  Once appeared with Buffalo Bill. These two were never in the wild, but twins found after the death of the mother and bottle fed.

Tonite.....
Yard Decorations, over the years we have seldom had more than concrete ducks/chickens and birdbaths in our yards.  For years my brother Junior poured concrete to make many yard decorations, in the 1950 to 1970 time frame the birdbath was the main object sold.

Since traveling a lot we have seen bigger and more unique yard decorations.

I like this antique bike and trees!
The most interesting was in the yard of a garage. A full size three stage rocket. Of course it was nothing like the ones fired today, but still a REAL surplus rocket. It was across from the first house son Mark built.

Bonnie who comments here sent me this Volkswagen used by a nursery.

In a small town in Utah I saw a full size antique truck used as a planter. I did not get a picture of it. I love the tubs and barrels turned over appearing to ‘spill flowers’.

I like it when the little red wagons and wheelbarrows are used in unique ways as planters. Oh yes, in Tennessee I saw a Bed frame filled with flowers, a REAL FLOWER BED! Son Mark has a horse drawn hay rake and size at his NC house.

Now if I had an estate yard, I would like these! LOL

Do you have any decorations in your yard?
If not what would you like?

Now I would love to have this at our next house.

PS: Friend Buddy sent me some good advice and a little sarcasm…
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it in half and put it back in your pocket.

So far, I've not planted in my yard, you have given me ideas for something novel....that VW is adorable, awesome coloration! And the antique bicycle has a lot of charm, love the blooms spillling out of the barrel as well.

I have a natural area so we wouldn't have to mow the grass on the hill.
I think it looks nice. Don't have any decorations in yard only Bird bath in back

I think Dar has used things to decorate her yard.

When Andy was little we had a little garden space and we would decorate it every month with different things - I miss those days! lol

Um, excuse me ... your NEXT house? :))))
Like the others, I love the idea of a 'spill' of flowers, but have no idea where to start. The olden bicycle shot is wonderful!

Shortly after this house was built Tom and I went looking for concrete bird feeders. Maybe we were looking in all the wrong places, but dang(!) they seriously want an arm and a leg for them. Yep, we passed.

Yard art depends on what kind of area you live in. City vs Countryside. My yard art is some large quartz rock and a bird bath. The rocks were here when we moved in. They are pretty in my flower bed. I wish for a small fish pond out back for some art.

I got a new yard decoration for Christmas this year. I'll have to put a picture of it in one of my posts soon. I've had it inside due to all the snow outside and am not so sure just where I'll put it. There are a lot different ones out there. I saw one house with a flock of chickens, copper I think, and the fellow would move them around day to day. Ha !

Hi Jack :) I don't know that you remember me, but we followed each others' blogs in the late 2000's! I stumbled upon Lisa's blog who said it was your birthday today. I remember when I lived on Prince Edward Island back in 2009 and I had a keyboard and I was learning how to play and I played "Happy Birthday" for you and made a video. Do you remember?

Anyway, I want to wish you a happy birthday! :) I'm back into blogging, much healthier and happy. I hope you and Sherry are continuing to travel and enjoy your lives! :) I'm so glad I re-found you, I'll be following your blog again!

Jack, you've got newbies. How wonderful. You know me, I have garden decor here and there....my favorite is my antique rusty 'supposed-to-be-Red, bicycle' that I fill with a basketful of flowers. Of course, my frogs and rabbits of stone and faux stone, my hypertufa birdbath Bill and I made out of a huge rhubarb leaf and concrete. Another bed has a kids trike & mini red wagon and then there's the fairyland among the succulents. The all time favorite of the grandloves is the treehouse built by Andy and Grandpa G. Each grand signed and decorated the inside with their favorite color spray paint. Hmmm, this summer I hope to talk my Mr. into putting up another swing in the trees. As for the antique truck you showed, I'd love one for flowers all summer and pumpkins in the fall.....ok, getting carried away and anxious for springtime.
love n' hugs from up north where it was sooooo warm out today-up to 22 above, yes, Above zero...woooowhoooo
