today’s stuff:
You that read some of the same blogs I do know Myra https://mevely317.blogspot.com/ She is a quick witted lady who kicks in so
many memories. They come especially when she plays some ‘blogging game’ of
answering random questions. The other day it was about random songs and I sang
one all day.
Now i
She had a familiar graphic starting her daily blog, it is a Lucy
comic methinks that is captioned “When you stumble, make it part of the dance!”
Our youth has many memorable moments. My mother loved arranging flowers. Once she
had too many white carnations, she changed the color with some liquid dye.
Using the same idea, I have renewed artificial poinsettias with spray paint.

We have all heard or read the old adage, if life gives you
lemons, make lemonade. Not everyone can do that, but it is good advice.
I have mentioned a songwriter, singer and musician named Vep Ellis.
It was 1953 and I was privileged to meet and hear Vep. He played the accordion,
piano, sax and trumpet. He is the only person I ever heard use a line like MA
did in her blog. He mentioned at times missed a note when playing different
instruments, he said, “When
I do, I try to make part of the melody.”
I know I have related that, but to a teenager it resounded. It
became like the lemon/lemonade thing. I try to understand every setback becomes
part of our life’s melody. When it is passed I want to remember the ‘good’ things that happened
during this ‘trying time’ of our country.

PS: This seems familiar to me. Like I have written this recently, if I have, it must be charged to the fact my wife is getting older. :-O

I hope Sherry doesn't read that last line. You will be in the dog house for sure! One day we will look back at these times and realize how resilient we all were even when we felt we were stumbling. I truly feel for people who are struggling to make ends meet, to feed their families, to keep their businesses opened. They will be the true heroes along with first responders and health care workers.

Catchy slogans and songs do tend to stick our memories. Sometimes good and sometimes not. I do the same and things will good. Things will go round and round in my mind until I replace them with another. We cannot let this pasdominic get us down, but do the best we can every day.
I agree with you - some good has come out of this sadness... I agree. Might have to look hard for it sometimes tho...
I'd forgotten that trick about dying carnations! In my teen years the local florist would do that to match girls' prom dresses. I've not heard of Vep Ellis, but I'll bet Tom does. His is a great quote!

I know you've seen many challenging times throughout your life. You have a wonderful attitude that helps keep you focused and young. I've also had my fair share of lemons and I've made enough lemonade this year alone that I will gladly share a gallon or two! Enjoy your weekend!

I remember picking those wild white flowers when I was young. I think its call Queen Ann Lace? Mom would put them in food colored water and we could not wait to see them the next morning.
