PHENYLKETONURICS: Contains Phenylalanine…?????(Happy New Year)

Yeah and I am also eating L. Acidophilus.  Are these words proper in mixed company?

beautiful3

(The only big word I can think of when I see this picture is, Beautiful)

We decided to eat yogurt for Breakfast. So while Sherry & Evelyn were getting their hair done, I went shopping. I picked up some store brand and Dannon Yogurt, Strawberry Banana.

It’s pretty good, well it was until I read what is in it! You doctors, nurses, consultants, Transcribers, CNAs, PAs and other smart folks that can say those words without tripping over your tongue, have my respect.

I cannot believe words like that exist. I am stuck with an 8th grade vocabulary, and sometimes I think it is a third grade one. You got smart folks like the Wisconsin folk on here that know words like Pinus strobus and herbaceous forbs.

tn_wisconsin_winter_farm_1wisconsin-winter-02

It is amazing the things us ignorant folk see and eat having no idea what it is.  Of course I will find the meaning of those words when I am finished, just now I want to remain in ignorant bliss.

I was proud of my self for being able to read labels for calories, etc. Now I need to know this crap? (showing my ignorance) hahahahaha!

I am not belittling one’s ability to read, know and understand words 13-19 letters long. I truly wish I could, it is just too late in life for me to learn that. So like trusting Doctors (?) I will have to trust someone not to put an ingredient in something I eat that will eventually in itself kill me.

What a stupid entry this is!  But what the hey? As my pastor once said, “Jack, it is your blog!”

Did you know ‘smiles’ is the longest word in the world?  There is a mile between the first and last letter!

I have read a little about Germany. You must appreciate and understand why folks of German extract are so smart, for an Englishman to try to pronounce even the military organizations (OrdnungspolizeiReichsarbeitsdienst &Reichsluftschutzbund)  he has a rough time, much less spelling them correctly. You must respect Robert, several languages, and still keeps them straight?  WOW

The longest name of a town in the UK is the Welsh town (How would you like to address you Christmas cards from this town: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll Llantysiliogogogoch

800px-Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch-railway-station-sign-2011-09-21-GR2_1837a
It means "whose name means St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of St Tysilio of the red cave"

We folks in North America (& UK)remember: Supercalifragilisticexpialidosis ( And yeah, I know I spelled it wrong.)

Thanks for coming this way!

There are certainly alot of tongue twisters out there with one too many letters. LOL on packaging, etc. I had never heard of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll Llantysiliogogogoch. My goodness what a name. Glad I don't live there and have to write it, either. LOL Only yogurt I eat is PEACH. LOVE it. Crazy about the photo with the pine needles jutting out. Santa didn't leave me a car for Christmas either. But he left me a camera so I could take a picture of one. LOL Take care. HAPPY NEW YEAR to ya.

I will let you in on a little secret, Jack. Doctors can't pronounce some medicine names, LOL. They "butcher" them a lot, making it hard to be 100% accurate that is what they are trying to say (in which case we just leave a blank). I'm not sure half the time what is in foods these days. I think that's why some people like the eating "raw" concept, no preservatives, etc. My gosh, the name of that town! I'm sure they must abbreviate it somehow????

Best wishes for the happiest of new years to Sherry and you Jack!

This entry is not stupid. You always think up an interesting entry. The ingrediants that surprised me recently is the warning not to swallow tooth paste. My gosh I always thought that was the safest thing since we put it in our mouth. I can not bring myself to eat a rib sandwich at McDonalds after reading what is in them and I used to really like them. I almost wish I hadn't read it so I can keep on eating them. lol

That picture is beautiful...I couldn't think of a better word. and I love that SMILE is the longest word...with a mile in between the s and the e...As to the rest I'm out in left field some place. We are under a snow and wind advisory here. Supposed will get 6-8 tomorrow. Everything is already snow covered and the temps are dropping. That's something i do know about. Hope you all are having a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Alright, if you'll bear with me, I'm going to explain about yogurt to you. My son and I love it. My husband is totally disdainful, "I ain't eatin' no clabber."
The phenylalanine is an artificial sweetener. Nutrasweet is one of the name brands of aspartame (which contains phenylalanine). You can pronounce it fennel AL uh neen or feenel AL uh neen. People who have epilepsy can be sensitive to it. That is why there is a warning. But I don't trust artificial sweeteners, so I buy the yogurt with sugar which is not exactly healthy either. One of my pet peeves is artificial sweeteners and artificial colors in yogurt. I protest by not buying it if it has artificial sweeteners or colors. I don't buy yogurt with carmine either. That is crushed up bug shells to make a red color. When my son was little, he said, "At least they're killing the bugs." In other words, fewer pests, lol.
The L. acidophilus is GOOD. Pronounced ass uh DOFF uh lus. It is a beneficial bacteria that helps your gut - maybe even lowers cholesterol.
Now for the fun stuff. The Greek style yogurt has twice the protein. It is drained yogurt so it has a thicker texture. I look for close-outs or nearly out-of-date specials. The key lime flavor was great. It tasted like key lime pie. The honey vanilla flavor was great as were the strawberry and blueberry. Yum, yum. At my favorite discount store, I get the 4-pack of store brand, regular (not Greek style) yogurt. It does not have artificial colors. It is colored with anatto (uh NAH toe) which is natural. You should look that up; you will find that interesting, I think.

OK Jack, You and your long words, I just ignored them after one look. I don't think I like yogurt. I have never had the urge to try it. I think I had a frozen yogurt cone and could not tell the difference. I read the explanation above. Who ever that is , is smarter than I am and more patient to figure them all out. If I ever do buy yogurt won't look to see what it is made of. is

Until now I thought I was pretty good with pronouncing words. Even surprised the doctors a few times by pronouncing some meds they were talking about. But now - as;lkjfljasdllkfa;lkjsl is a word I just can't say. Hahahahaha
