On the way to Knoxville

For Sunday’s stuff: (I am publishing this on Sat night. I had problems with the net, so since I have it, I will publish!)

We had a good ride to Knoxville. We are at the Volunteer RV park north of Knoxville. Some pictures on the way. I40 slides past the Great Smokies as we passed thru the Appalachians on the interstate. Entering or leaving NC from VA or Tennessee is beautiful drives; a little curvy of course but pretty. Our mountains in this area do not compare to size & heights of the mountains our rest, but are breathtaking anyway.

Every one remembers Gatlinburg  In July, from 'A Boy Named Sue.'

This area is known for white water rafting. There is a load of rafts heading to the head waters. We saw 3-4 buses this trip.

Entering Tennessee

I love the rocks on the sides of the hills.

However not nice to see them fall like this. We did not see them fall, thank goodness.

I love the Tunnels drilled thru mountains.

Just good scenery for me.

I do love the mountains in the distance. Funny thing here on the east coast, we see mountains and we are there in a hour of so, out west you see the mountains and you still have a few days drive to get there.

This is the Douglas Dam on the French Broad River. Not much of a picture for the beauty all round that you see. Driving the coach gives you a beautiful view over bridges.

The below picture is just for that name. We have driven this road many times, and I NEVER saw that name.

 We arrived at the Volunteer Park on Interstate 75.

We had dinner with Stephen, Jennifer, Jude and Kennedy at Blade Pizza and had a great time. Most people wore masks as ordering and not eating, but it was a very busy place.  It was a pleasure to be with Stephen He manages an Arts and Music Store here in Knoxville. They are struggling during the pandemic but keeping their heads above water. We were with his twin Josh a week or so ago.
